Qatar ExxonMobil Open

Andrey Rublev claimed the title in Doha for the second time, defeating Jack Draper of Great Britain 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 on Saturday. Rublev, seeded fifth, pounded 34 winners — including 10 aces — on his way to securing his 17th ATP Tour trophy and his first since last May’s Masters 1000 event in Madrid.

The Russian won nearly 79 percent of his first-serve points and faced just three break points. Draper, vying for his third tour title, will rise to a career-high No. 12 in Monday’s rankings, while Rublev will move up to No. 9.

Rio Open

Fifth-seeded Sebastian Baez is one win away from defending his Rio Open crown after shaking off a slow start to beat fellow Argentine Camilo Uga Carabelli 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. Baez tallied seven aces, converted 6 of 10 break chances, and saved 3 of 5 against the lucky loser.

He will meet France’s Alexandre Muller, who earned his spot in the final with a 7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-3 triumph over Argentina’s Francisco Comesana. Muller, contesting his first ATP 500 final, saved five of eight break points and broke serve five times to secure the win.
