Blue Jackets 5, Red Wings 3 (Stadium Series)
Justin Danforth’s goal with 2:17 left proved decisive, and Elvis Merzlikins made 43 saves as Columbus topped Detroit outside at Ohio Stadium in chilly Columbus. Denton Mateychuk, Dmitri Voronkov, Mathieu Olivier, and Adam Fantilli also scored for the Blue Jackets, who leapfrogged the Red Wings in the Eastern Conference wild-card race. Detroit’s Alex DeBrincat netted two goals, and Patrick Kane contributed a goal plus two assists. Danforth rebounded his own attempt past defenseman Simon Edvinsson at the blue line for the winner, and Fantilli sealed it with an empty-netter.
Flyers 2, Jets 1 (SO)
Ivan Fedotov turned aside 29 shots in regulation and overtime, plus all three shootout attempts, helping Philadelphia edge host Winnipeg. Jamie Drysdale scored in the second period, assisted by Noah Cates and Nick Seeler, pushing the Flyers to a 4-0-1 mark in their last five. Mark Scheifele had the Jets’ lone tally, with Gabriel Vilardi and Kyle Connor earning assists. Winnipeg (0-1-1 since an 11-game winning streak) remains atop the NHL standings, but missed several late chances, including in the shootout.
Kraken 6, Canucks 3
Eeli Tolvanen scored twice and Brandon Montour had a goal and an assist, powering Seattle to a home victory over Vancouver. The Kraken, chasing the final Western wild-card spot, broke a two-game skid behind 28 saves from Joey Daccord. Andre Burakovsky, Oliver Bjorkstrand, and Matty Beniers also lit the lamp for Seattle. Pius Suter, Filip Chytil, and Dakota Joshua scored for the Canucks, who lost their second straight.
Lightning 3, Capitals 1
Brandon Hagel notched his 30th goal in his fourth straight multi-point game, and Tampa Bay extended its win streak to eight by beating Washington. Erik Cernak and Nikita Kucherov also scored, while Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 21 shots. The Lightning (9-0-1 in their last 10) stymied Alex Ovechkin until his late consolation goal. Washington, with Logan Thompson in net (16 saves), has dropped three straight in regulation.

Edmonton ended a five-game losing streak, helped by Calvin Pickard’s 35 saves in Raleigh, N.C. Adam Henrique, Corey Perry, and Evan Bouchard tallied for the Oilers, while Leon Draisaitl extended his points streak to 11 with two assists. Sergei Bobrovsky’s 39 saves, including several highlight-reel stops, earned him his third shutout of the season as Florida beat Calgary in Sunrise. Jonah Gadjovich, Evan Rodrigues, and Mackie Samoskevich scored for the Panthers, who compensated for missing star Matthew Tkachuk (lower-body). Dan Vladar shined for two periods (39 saves overall), but Florida broke through for two third-period goals to put it away.

David Pastrnak posted a goal and an assist, extending his league-best 17-game point streak, to lead Boston past host Pittsburgh. Mason Lohrei’s power-play marker gave the Bruins an early cushion, and Charlie Coyle’s empty-netter stood as the decider after a late Penguins flurry. Joonas Korpisalo made 31 saves for Boston, snapping its five-game slide. Rickard Rakell and Anthony Beauvillier scored for Pittsburgh, which has dropped five of six.

Dylan Holloway tallied a goal and an assist, lifting St. Louis to its fourth straight victory by downing visiting Los Angeles. Colton Parayko, Pavel Buchnevich, and Zack Bolduc each scored, while Jordan Binnington stopped 25 shots. Kevin Fiala had the lone Kings’ goal, and David Rittich turned away 30 shots in the club’s third consecutive defeat.
Devils 3, Utah 1
Timo Meier scored in the second, providing the eventual winner as New Jersey topped Utah Hockey Club in Salt Lake City. Nico Hischier and Curtis Lazar added goals and Nico Daws made 24 saves, pushing the Devils to 6-5-0 in their last 11. Mikhail Sergachev scored for Utah, which saw its three-game win streak snapped. Karel Vejmelka stopped 26 shots but allowed two in the second frame.
Canadiens 4, Sabres 2
Cole Caufield’s 29th goal of the season helped Montreal down host Buffalo for its fourth consecutive win. Josh Anderson, Alex Newhook, and Jake Evans also scored, while Lane Hutson and Christian Dvorak each provided two assists. Jakub Dobes made 23 saves in net. Alex Tuch scored for the third straight game as the Sabres dropped two in a row.

Ottawa overcame a 3-1 deficit with four third-period goals to defeat visiting San Jose. Tim Stutzle had a goal and an assist, Shane Pinto, David Perron, Michael Amadio, and Brady Tkachuk also scored. Linus Ullmark (34 saves) helped Ottawa snap a five-game skid. Will Smith (goal, assist), Tyler Toffoli, and Timothy Liljegren scored for the Sharks, who lost their eighth straight (0-5-3).
Islanders 7, Predators 4
Brock Nelson erupted for two second-period goals as host New York cruised past Nashville. Ilya Sorokin got credit for an empty-net goalie goal with 12 seconds left, adding to his 24 saves. Kyle Palmieri, Casey Cizikas, Bo Horvat, and Jean-Gabriel Pageau each scored as well. Nashville’s Cole Smith had two third-period goals, while Juuse Saros allowed six on 36 shots in the Predators’ third loss in four outings.
Blackhawks 6, Ducks 3
Ryan Donato put up two goals and an assist, and Teuvo Teravainen added a goal and two helpers as Chicago ended a five-game slide in Anaheim. Lukas Reichel (goal, assist), Pat Maroon, and Wyatt Kaiser also scored for the Blackhawks, who improved to 7-20-4 on the road. Arvid Soderblom made 28 saves. Anaheim’s Leo Carlsson had two goals, Frank Vatrano contributed two assists, and John Gibson allowed six on 24 shots in his first game back from injury.
