Philadelphia erupted for 18 runs on 13 hits in Fort Myers, Fla., highlighted by Buddy Kennedy’s three-run homer and Josh Breaux’s solo shot. Alec Bohm and Otto Kemp each drove in two. The Phillies scored seven runs in the second inning, capitalizing on Boston reliever Adam Ottavino’s six runs allowed. Ceddanne Rafaela’s two RBIs paced the Red Sox, who went 6-for-9 with runners in scoring position compared to 8-for-16 for Philadelphia.

Ryan Mountcastle set the tone with a three-run homer in the first inning in Tampa, Fla. Colton Cowser and Vimael Machin notched two hits each for the visiting Orioles. Paul Goldschmidt and Dominic Smith provided RBI hits for the Yankees split squad. Clarke Schmidt surrendered Mountcastle’s blast.

Josh Rivera’s go-ahead RBI single in the eighth lifted host Toronto over Minnesota in Dunedin, Fla. Bo Bichette’s sacrifice fly and Daulton Varsho’s homer erased a 2-0 deficit. Chris Bassitt fanned three while yielding two hits over 4 2/3 shutout innings. Jose Miranda’s two-run homer gave the Twins their early lead, while Andrew Morris tossed three innings of one-hit, scoreless work.

Otto Lopez smacked two of Miami’s five homers in a rout of St. Louis in Jupiter, Fla. Griffin Conine went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs, while Nick Fortis and Matt Mervis also went deep. Jose Barrero (two hits, two RBIs) paced the Cardinals’ offense. Erick Fedde surrendered six runs on seven hits over four innings for St. Louis.
