Cruz Azul 4, Sounders 1 (Second Leg; Cruz Azul Wins 4-1 on Aggregate)

Cruz Azul scored three times in the final 19 minutes in Mexico City, overturning last week’s scoreless draw. Carlos Rodriguez opened the scoring with a header in the 33rd minute, and Angel Sepulveda doubled the lead from the spot in the 71st. Seattle’s Danny Musovski trimmed it to 2-1 moments later, but goals by Luka Romero (85th) and Jorge Sanchez (88th) put the match and series out of reach. Cruz Azul advances to face either Chivas de Guadalajara or Club America in the quarterfinals.

Crew 2, Los Angeles FC 1 (Second Leg; LAFC Advances 4-2 on Aggregate)

Despite losing at home in Columbus, Ohio, LAFC held on to its 3-0 first-leg advantage. The Crew made it interesting by scoring twice in the first half: Jacen Russell-Rowe volleyed in Diego Rossi’s cross (10th minute), and Rossi converted a penalty just before halftime to pull Columbus to within 3-2 on aggregate. However, Denis Bouanga sealed the series for LAFC in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time, finishing off a two-on-one break with Cengiz Under. LAFC will face the winner of Inter Miami vs. Cavalier (Jamaica) in the next round.
