Judge Powers Yankees Past D-backs with Milestone Blast
Aaron Judge continues to make history in pinstripes. The Yankees slugger crushed a three-run homer in the first inning to mark his 500th career extra-base hit, becoming the third-fastest in franchise history to reach that milestone behind Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio.
Judge added an RBI single in the fourth, finishing the game with four RBIs and capping off a dominant homestand with five homers and 15 RBIs.
Carlos Carrasco (1-0) earned the win with 5 1/3 innings of three-run ball. Trent Grisham provided big support with a three-hit, three-RBI night, including a two-run homer.
Arizona made things interesting late with a grand slam by Geraldo Perdomo, the team’s second of the series, but the Yankees held on. Starter Merrill Kelly (0-1) allowed nine runs in less than four innings.

Red Sox Go Deep to Drop Orioles Again
Boston used the long ball to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Alex Bregman, Kristian Campbell, and Triston Casas all hit two-run homers, with Bregman adding an RBI double in the ninth to finish with three hits.
Zack Kelly (1-0) earned the win out of the bullpen, and starter Tanner Houck struck out six over four innings.
Baltimore’s Cedric Mullins homered, but the Orioles dropped their second straight.

Phillies Sweep Rockies Behind Strong Start from Walker
Taijuan Walker bounced back from a tough 2024 season with six scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and a walk in Philadelphia’s sweep of Colorado.
Kyle Schwarber added a solo homer and J.T. Realmuto chipped in three hits to lead the offense. The Phillies have now won five of their first six.
Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela (0-1) gave up one unearned run over 5 1/3 innings. Colorado’s offense has been quiet, scoring only 11 runs in six games.

Brewers Win Third Straight, Hand Reds Another 1-0 Loss
Nestor Cortes put together a sharp bounce-back performance, allowing just one hit over six shutout innings to lead Milwaukee to a win in the opener of their four-game series with Cincinnati.
Elvis Peguero, Bryan Hudson, and Joel Payamps closed the door with three clean innings. Payamps earned his first save.
The game’s only run came in the fourth on an unearned run. Reds starter Nick Lodolo (1-1) retired the first nine batters but was tagged with the hard-luck loss.
Cincinnati has now lost three straight by the same score: 1-0.
