Gift Monday capitalized on a second-half error to deliver the Washington Spirit a hard-fought 1-0 road win over previously unbeaten Orlando Pride on Saturday.
Orlando goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse misplayed a clearance in the 63rd minute, allowing Monday to bury her first goal of the season into an open net. It marked the Pride’s first loss of 2024 after opening the year with four straight wins, in which they scored 11 goals.
Despite Orlando’s 20 shot attempts, Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury stood tall with six saves to secure the clean sheet. Both clubs now sit at 4-1-0 (12 points).

San Diego Wave 4, Racing Louisville FC 1
Delphine Cascarino stole the show for San Diego with two goals in a 17-minute second-half stretch, helping the Wave pull away from Racing Louisville in a 4-1 road victory.
Kenza Dali opened the scoring for San Diego with a first-half free kick, and 16-year-old Melanie Barcenas gave the Wave a 2-1 lead just minutes into the second half. Cascarino added her brace to seal it, also assisting on Dali’s goal.
Ary Borges provided the lone tally for Louisville, converting a penalty in first-half stoppage time.
