We have CFL Week 6 picks for all four games on the schedule starting with tonight’s game between the Tiger-Cats and Elks. There’s one game on Friday night and two games on Saturday this week.
Edmonton are the only team without a win this season. Toronto remains undefeated, but have had two bye weeks already and have a tough road game against the Alouettes this week.

I went 2-2 (-$10) in Week 5, which brings my record to 11-7 (+$385) for the season. The lines have been getting tougher as the season progresses, but I expect a winning week with my CFL Week 6 picks.

Tiger-Cats vs. Elks Prediction for Week 6
- When: Thursday, July 13th 2023 at 9:00 PM ET
- Where: Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta
- Opening Spread: Tiger-Cats -2.5 / Current Spread: Tiger-Cats PK
- Opening Total: 42.5 Points / Current Total: 42.5 Points
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1-3 / 1-3 ATS) got their first win last week against Ottawa. QB Matthew Shiltz is starting for the injured Bo Levi Mitchell. Shiltz went 19/26 for 233 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT last week. The Ti-Cats are scoring 19.5 PPG (T6) and they’re allowing a league-worst 31.3 PPG.

The Edmonton Elks (0-5 / 1-4 ATS) had a great shot at winning last week, but they blew it at the end and lost by one point. The passing game struggled again, as QB Taylor Cornelius went 17/29 for 226 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. However, they rushed for 143 yards and scored their first rushing TD of the season.
Edmonton rank last in scoring (12.4 PPG) and 8th in points allowed (24.0 PPG). Defensively, the Elks are allowing 146.8 RYPG (9th), but the Ti-Cats only average 69.5 RYPG (9th) on offense. This game could be decided by turnovers, as the Tiger-Cats have made 13 TOs (7th) and the Elks have made 15 TOs (9th).
These teams played once last season and the Elks won on the road (29-25).
Best Bet: Edmonton Elks PK (-110)
Argonauts vs. Alouettes Prediction for Week 6
- When: Friday, July 14th 2023 at 7:30 PM ET
- Where: Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in Montreal, Quebec
- Opening Spread: Argonauts -3.5 / Current Spread: Argonauts -5
- Opening Total: 49.5 Points / Current Total: 48.5 Points
The Montreal Alouettes (2-2 / 2-2 ATS) host the Toronto Argonauts (3-0 / 3-0 ATS) on Friday. Montreal are coming off a big loss to the Lions and have now lost two games in a row. Toronto are scoring 40.0 PPG (1st), which is more than 12.0 PPG ahead of second place. The Als are scoring 19.8 PPG (5th).
On defense, the Als are allowing 19.0 PPG (3rd) and the Argos are allowing 23.0 PPG (5th). Toronto have the best rushing attack. They average 136.7 RYPG (1st) and have nine rushing TDs (1st). Montreal have allowed 90.8 RYPG (5th) and only two rushing TDs (2nd) so far this season.
Montreal have the edge in passing offense. The Als average 280.0 PYPG (3rd), while the Argos average 250.3 PYPG (6th). Both teams only have two passing TDs this season. Toronto rank 1st in TOs made (4), forced turnovers (13) and sacks allowed (4), which makes them a tough team to defeat.

These teams played each other four times last season, which includes the playoff game. Toronto went 3-1 SU, but were 1-2-1 ATS. Will the Argos remain undefeated or will the Als snap their losing streak?

Blue Bombers vs. Redblacks Prediction for Week 6
- When: Saturday, July 15th 2023 at 4:00 PM ET
- Where: TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario
- Opening Spread: Blue Bombers -7.5 / Current Spread: Blue Bombers -9
- Opening Total: 43.5 Points / Current Total: 44 Points
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (4-1 / 4-1 ATS) have been playing better defense the last two weeks. The Bombers are scoring 26.8 PPG (3rd) and allowing 20.4 PPG (4th). The offense will be tested this week against the Ottawa Redblacks (1-3 / 1-3 ATS), as Ottawa are only allowing 18.3 PPG (2nd).

— Winnipeg Blue Bombers (@Wpg_BlueBombers) July 13, 2023
The problem for the Redblacks has been the offense. Ottawa are scoring just 16.5 PPG (8th) and that’s unlikely to improve. Jeremiah Masoli returned from injury last week, but he was quickly reinjured and is out for the season. Tyrie Adams is also out for the season, so Dustin Crum will take over starting duties.
In relief duty last week, Crum went 14/21 for 149 yards and 2 INTs. However, he was very mobile, picking up 91 rushing yards and 1 TD on six carries. How will this affect my CFL Week 6 picks? He’s unlikely to find as many running lanes against Winnipeg who are allowing 81.2 RYPG (2nd). Winnipeg also rank 2nd in sacks made (16).
These teams played each other twice last season, with the Blue Bombers winning both games. However, they each covered ATS once and both games were decided by seven points or less.

Stampeders vs. Roughriders Prediction for Week 6
- When: Saturday, July 15th 2023 at 7:00 PM ET
- Where: Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan
- Opening Spread: Roughriders -3.5 / Current Spread: Roughriders -1.5
- Opening Total: 44 Points / Current Total: 44.5 Points
The Calgary Stampeders (1-3 / 1-3 ATS) have lost two in a row. Jake Maier went 14/25 for 122 yards and 1 INT last week. That’s not going to get it done. Calgary are scoring 19.5 PPG (T6) and allowing 23.3 PPG (6th). RB Diedrick Mills ranks 3rd in rushing yards (273) and 1st in rushing yards per attempt (5.8).
The Saskatchewan Roughriders (3-1 / 2-2 ATS) won last week, but failed to cover ATS. The Roughriders are scoring 21.3 PPG (4th) and allowing 23.8 PPG (7th). QB Trevor Harris ranks 3rd in passing yards (1,159) and passing TDs (6). RB Jamal Morrow ranks 2nd in rushing yards (285).
Calgary (6th in PYPG allowed at 261.0) need to find a way to contain Harris and the Roughriders passing offense (2nd in PYPG at 289.8). In the first H2H meeting this season, the Roughriders won in overtime (29-26) on the road. Last season, the Stampeders went 2-0 (2-0 ATS) against the Riders.
