Let’s say, for example, that India and Pakistan are playing a Test match. The cricket odds for the match will look something like this: 

• India (-200) 
• Draw (+300) 
• Pakistan (+400) 

As you can see, India is the bookies’ favorite at -200. That means you will need to wager $200 to make a $100 profit. Pakistan is the underdog at +400, while the draw is priced at +300. 

It is worth noting that shorter formats of the game – such as T20 and The Hundred – don’t have draws. Instead, the matches are decided by a “Super Over” or “Super 5” if the score is level at the end. 

Outright Cricket Odds 

Another popular option when it comes to betting on cricket is the outright market. Also referred to as “futures”, these cricket odds enable you to wager on the winner of a league or tournament, or the recipient of an end-of-season award like the IPL MVP.

India is favored to win the tournament on home soil, while defending champion England and record winner Australia are also expected to challenge for the trophy. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Zimbabwe, Netherlands and Scotland are the rank outsiders.

The inaugural Major League Cricket season is in full swing, courtesy of American Cricket Enterprises (ACE). We may only be a week into the maiden season, but the United States’ T20 franchise league is already a big hit. 

With six teams battling it out to secure the silverware, there has been plenty of big hitting and wicket-taking on display. Let’s take a quick look at the latest outright Major League Cricket odds before eyeing the standout teams to bet on. 

Latest Outright Odds for the 2023 MLC Title

As things stand, the Seattle Orcas are favored to lift the trophy. Captained by Wayne Parnell, the Orcas are two for two ahead of their third match, with overseas stars such as Quinton de Kock, Shimron Hetmyer and Andrew Tye leading the charge. 

On the flip side, the Los Angeles Knight Riders are the clear underdogs. Despite possessing world-class performers like Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Jason Roy, Martin Guptill and Adam Zampa, the Knight Riders have lost each of their three matches so far. 

The Texas Super Kings and San Francisco Unicorns have both registered two wins in three matches. Texas is captained by T20 icon Faf du Plessis, while San Francisco is captained by Australian legend Aaron Finch. 

With five of the six teams priced between +225 and +450, it is difficult to predict who will lift the trophy later this month. The MI New York and Washington Freedom have also shown promise, so we are set for a thrilling end to the season.

What’s Going on in the County Championship? 

Since every team in the County Championship has played a minimum of seven matches this year, it feels like a good time to take stock and check in with England and Wales’ first-class competition. 

Surrey sits at the summit of Division 1 after picking up five victories in eight matches, while Warwickshire and Hampshire both have four wins under their belt. At the opposite end of the standings, Northamptonshire is rock bottom after managing a solitary win this season. 

Over in Division 2, Durham leads the way with 131 points, while Leicestershire and Sussex round out the top three with 95 points apiece. Without a single win this year, Gloucestershire and Derbyshire find themselves at the wrong end of the second tier.
