Following a fortnight of enthralling tennis action, it’s time to lock in your 2023 US Open finals predictions.
Daniil Medvedev will take on Novak Djokovic in the men’s singles final, while Coco Gauff will face Aryna Sabalenka in the women’s singles showpiece. On top of that, we have odds for the mixed doubles and women’s doubles finals this weekend.
I will be sharing my US Open finals predictions and picks a little later. First, let’s recap the tournament, assess the schedule, and check out the bookies’ odds.
2023 US Open Review – The Story So Far
The men’s singles event has served up tons of surprises this year. Three Americans – Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, and Ben Shelton – reached the quarterfinals, with Shelton losing to Djokovic in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Medvedev dispatched Alex de Minaur and Andrey Rublev before knocking out defending champion Carlos Alcaraz to set up a repeat of the 2021 US Open final, which Medvedev won in straight sets against Djokovic.
Over in the women’s singles event, reigning champ Iga Swiatek suffered a shock fourth-round exit at the expense of Jelena Ostapenko. Coco Gauff and Madison Keys both reached the semifinals, but only Gauff advanced to the showpiece.
There has already been one title handed out in New York, with Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury winning the men’s doubles event. Plus, we still have the wheelchair, boys’ and girls’ finals to look forward to this weekend.
Daniil Medvedev clinched a spot in the US Open final for the third time.

The women’s singles final and the mixed doubles final take place on Saturday, September 9. As you can see, Sabalenka is the bookies’ favorite to clinch the women’s singles title, while Austin Krajicek and Jessica Pegula are favored to win the mixed doubles final.

Without further ado, here are my US Open finals predictions.
2023 US Open Finals Predictions and Picks
There are lots of different events drawing to a close in New York this weekend, but my US Open finals predictions concern the men’s singles and women’s singles events.
Can Coco Gauff make history as a teenager on home soil? Will Aryna Sabalenka win her second Grand Slam title of the year? Could Daniil Medvedev upset the odds against Novak Djokovic? Or will the Serbian king reign supreme once again?
If you want to find out the answers to those questions, you are certainly in the right place. Read on to discover my 2023 US Open finals predictions and picks.
Coco Gauff vs. Aryna Sabalenka Prediction
The whole of the United States will be behind Coco Gauff when the 19-year-old American takes to the court against Aryna Sabalenka on Saturday. The Georgian has enjoyed a dream tournament up to now, and she will be determined to finish it in style.
That said, Sabalenka’s experience makes her the favorite for the title. The 25-year-old Belarusian has already won the Australian Open this year, and she has also reached seven Grand Slam semifinals since 2021.
Sabalenka was pushed all the way by Madison Keys in the semifinals, while Gauff made light work of Karolina Muchova. With that in mind, I’m backing the homegrown starlet to triumph in New York. Plus, odds of +100 are too tasty to ignore.
Best Bet: Coco Gauff (+100)

Daniil Medvedev vs. Novak Djokovic Prediction
Two years ago, Medvedev claimed a hugely impressive US Open final victory over Djokovic, winning 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. The Russian can take confidence from that triumph, but he will also be wary of Djokovic’s remarkable record.
Indeed, Djokovic has claimed no fewer than 23 Grand Slam titles over the years, winning three US Open titles along the way. The legendary 36-year-old also won the Australian Open and French Open earlier this year before losing the Wimbledon final to Carlos Alcaraz.
It is worth noting Medvedev defeated Alcaraz in the semifinals on Friday, upsetting the odds against the favored Spaniard. With a US Open title already in the bag, Medvedev will fancy his chances of upsetting the odds once again on Sunday.
