Welcome to Sports Hub’s Premier League Matchweek 7 review. Following another weekend of high-octane action, it’s time to discuss all the key talking points.

Manchester City suffered their first defeat of the season, while Luton Town picked up their first Premier League victory. Aston Villa thrashed Brighton 6-1, extending several betting trends elsewhere.

Our Premier League Matchweek 7 review analyzes the latest results and highlights all the key EPL betting trends. Let’s get this show on the road!

Matchweek 7 Premier League Results

It only makes sense to begin our Premier League Matchweek 7 review by assessing the weekend’s results. Thankfully, there are plenty of standout results to discuss.

  • Aston Villa 6-1 Brighton & Hove Albion
  • Manchester United 0-1 Crystal Palace
  • Newcastle United 2-0 Burnley
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Manchester City
  • Bournemouth 0-4 Arsenal
  • West Ham United 2-0 Sheffield United
  • Everton 1-2 Luton Town
  • Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Liverpool
  • Nottingham Forest 1-1 Brentford

Matchweek 7 started with a bang at Villa Park, as Unai Emery’s men crushed Brighton 6-1. Ollie Watkins netted a hat-trick, meaning he now has seven goals and two assists in 11 games across all competitions this season.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace claimed a shock victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford. However, an even bigger shock occurred at Molineux, with Wolves snatching a rare win against the reigning champions.

Newcastle, West Ham and Tottenham also triumphed on home soil, while Arsenal and Luton won on the road. On Sunday, Nottingham Forest and Brentford dished up the only draw of the weekend.

Betting Trends – Premier League Matchweek 7 Review

We always enjoy breaking down the betting trends after every Premier League weekend. Lucky for you, our Premier League Matchweek 7 review is packed with EPL betting trends, statistics, and essential data.

This section of our Premier League Matchweek 7 review covers all the fundamental betting trends. We also look at the latest goal trends and player stats, including goals, assists, clean sheets, and everything in between.

Which player has scored the most goals in the Premier League this season? Which teams remain unbeaten in 2023-24? Who has made the most tackles and passes? Read on to discover the answers to those questions.

Key Premier League Betting Trends

There is no shortage of crucial Premier League betting trends to be aware of. If you enjoy betting on the EPL, use the stats in this section to your advantage, starting with the fundamental trends.

  • Man City and Liverpool suffered their first defeats of the season during Matchweek 7
  • Tottenham and Arsenal are now the only unbeaten teams in the Premier League.
  • Luton picked up their first Premier League since gaining promotion
  • Sheff Utd, Burnley, and Bournemouth remain winless after Matchweek 7
  • There was only one draw in nine games across Saturday and Sunday

Man City and Liverpool lost their unbeaten records during Matchweek 7, while Tottenham and Arsenal extended their unbeaten starts to the 2023-24 campaign. Elsewhere, Luton finally tasted victory in the EPL for the first time.

It is also worth noting that Sheffield United, Burnley, and Bournemouth have each failed to pick up a win this season. Unsurprisingly, those three teams were in the relegation zone after Matchweek 7.

Premier League Goal Trends

It’s not time to discuss all the standout goal trends from the Premier League. Specific teams have been scoring goals for fun this season, while others have struggled to keep the ball out of their net.

  • Aston Villa scored over 2.5 goals for the fourth time in six matches
  • Brighton still boasts the best offensive record in the division, with 19 goals.
  • However, the Seagulls now have the fourth-worst defensive record
  • Sheffield United has conceded the most Premier League goals this season
  • Brighton possess a 100% BTTS ratio after Matchweek 7
  • Both teams have scored in all but one of West Ham and Liverpool’s games
  • All of Brighton’s matches have produced over 3.5 goals this term

Brighton is an exciting team from a betting perspective this season. In addition to boasting the best offensive record in the division, the Seagulls possess the fourth-worst defensive record. The BTTS bet has landed in all their games, along with over 3.5 goals.

Sheff Utd still has the worst defensive record in the division, with 19 goals conceded in seven outings (2.7 goals per game). The Blades conceded over 1.5 goals in their previous six league encounters.

Premier League Player Stats

Last, let’s look at the pivotal player stats after Matchweek 7. If you enjoy using the exciting Premier League player props out there, this section is for you.

  • Ollie Watkins netted a hat-trick during Villa’s 6-1 thrashing of Brighton
  • Erling Haaland (8) is the top scorer in the Premier League this season
  • Son Heung-min (6) and Jarrod Bown (5) are second and third in the scoring charts
  • Pedro Neto, James Maddison, Mohamed Salah and Kieran Trippier each have four assists.
  • Sam Johnstone, Bernd Leno, Nick Pope, and Ederson each have three clean sheets
  • Lewis Dunk (678) has made the most passes in the Premier League this term
  • Marvelous Nakamba (26) has made the most tackles in the EPL this season

Despite Ollie Watkins’ hat-trick against Brighton, Erling Haaland is still the top scorer in the Premier League. However, Son Heung-min is hot on Haaland’s heels after scoring in Tottenham’s 2-1 victory over Liverpool.

In terms of clean sheets, Sam Johnstone, Bernd Leno, Nick Pope, and Ederson are the leading goalkeepers right now. Elsewhere, Lewis Dunk leads the way for passes, while Marvelous Nakamba sits atop the tackles leaderboard.
