Best Season-Long NHL Player Prop Futures for 2023-24

We’ve identified the best season-long NHL player prop futures for 2023-24. The NHL regular season will begin on Tuesday with a three-game slate, so now is a great time to finalize your NHL futures bets.

There are lots of NHL player prop futures, including total goals, points and several goalie props.

2023-24 NHL Player Prop Futures – Goals

Here are the best NHL player prop futures for goals:

• Alex Ovechkin Over 40.5 Goals (-113)

Is this the season Ovechkin suffers a dropoff in production? I’m not buying that. Ovechkin is only 72 goals away from tying Wayne Gretzky at the summit of the NHL all-time goals leaders list. In the last five full ice hockey seasons, Ovi has scored 42+ goals every season. He had 42 goals in 73 games last season.

In the last five NHL seasons, Ovechkin has an average shooting percentage of 14.6. Ovi will be playing on the first line with Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie, plus he’ll be on the first powerplay unit.

• Mitchell Marner to Score 30+ Goals (-115)

Marner’s over/under for goals is 32.5 goals at most betting sites, but there’s a FanDuel market where he’s priced at -115 to score 30+ regular season goals. Marner has scored 35 goals (15.6 shooting percentage) and 30 goals (15.3 shooting percentage) the last two seasons with the Maple Leafs.

He has 15 powerplay goals and seven shorthanded goals in the last two seasons. Marner will feature on the first PP unit. He’s on the first line with Auston Matthews and Tyler Bertuzzi to start the season.

• Jordan Eberle to Score 20+ Goals (-115)

Eberle has scored 21 goals and 20 goals in two seasons with the Kraken. Eberle has scored 20+ goals in eight of 13 NHL seasons. When he plays 78+ regular season games in a season he has netted 20+ goals in seven of eight seasons. He’s a consistent producer and his opportunity in Seattle couldn’t be better.

Eberle is on the first line with Jared McCann and Matthew Beniers. He’s also on the first PP unit. He has a shooting percentage of 12.1, which is slightly below his career average of 12.9.

2023-24 NHL Player Prop Futures – Points

Here are the best NHL player prop futures for points:

• Evgeni Malkin to Score 70+ Points (-135)

When Malkin is on the ice, he produces. Age hasn’t been a problem. Malkin was healthy last season and he scored 83 points (27 goals and 56 assists) in 82 games. When Malkin plays in 55+ games during the regular season, he has exceeded 70 points in 12 of 13 seasons, which is an insane stat.

Malkin had 36 points on the PP last season and that should improve with Erik Karlsson now on the first PP unit. With a 13.5 shooting percentage in his career, look for Malkin to score 20+ goals.

• Connor Bedard Over 69.5 Points (-115)

Bedard may be a rookie, but he’s going to produce immediately. Bedard had five points in four preseason games. He’s going to center the Blackhawks first line with Taylor Hall and Ryan Donato. He’s also going to center the first PP unit. If the youngster stays healthy, he’ll produce at about a point per game.

Several rookies have had big seasons in recent years. Mathew Barzal had 85 points in his rookie season and Artemi Panarin had 77 points in his rookie season, which was with the Blackhawks.

2023-24 NHL Player Prop Futures – Goalie

Here are the best NHL player prop futures for goalies:

• Alexander Georgiev Over 34.5 Wins (-115)

Georgiev went 40-16-0-6 in his first season with the Avalanche. He posted a 2.53 goals against average and .919 save percentage. Colorado are going to win a lot of regular season games. The reason this line is at 34.5 games is because Pavel Francouz could come back from injury and steal some games.

However, Francouz was recently added to the injured reserve list and there’s no telling how he’ll perform when back between the pipes. If Georgiev starts hot, he’ll get the lion’s share of games.

• Joonas Korpisalo to Record 1,100+ Saves (-140)

This line seems off to me. Korpisalo started 37 games last season with the Kings and Blue Jackets. He had 1,103 saves last season, with a 2.87 goals against average and .915 save percentage. Korpisalo signed with the Senators this offseason and he’s going to be the team’s starting goalie.

Ottawa are expected to take a step forward this season, but Korpisalo will see a lot of shots. If he plays in 50+ games, which is expected, he’ll easily have more than 1,100 saves during the regular season.

2023-24 NHL Player Prop Futures – Season Specials

Several sportsbooks have released season specials. These NHL player prop futures are longshots, but the payout odds are enticing and we only need to hit on one of them to turn a profit.

• Kyle Connor to Record 300+ Shots on Goal (+250)

In order to have 300 shots on a goal, a player needs to average 3.7 shots on goal per game. There were 14 players that averaged 3.7+ shots on goal per game last season. Connor played in all 82 games, but he averaged 3.3 shots on goal per game (273 shots on goal) last season.

In the 2021-22 season, Connor averaged 4.0 shots on goal per game (317 shots on goal in 79 games). He’s proven capable of hitting this target and I expect Connor to have a big season.

• Tage Thompson to Score 100+ Points (+300)

Thompson exploded for 94 points (47 goals and 47 assists) last season. The season prior, Thompson had 68 points. He played in 78 games in both seasons, so he had a huge jump in production last season. He’ll only need to add six points to his production from last season for this NHL player prop futures bet.

There were 11 players who scored 100+ points last season. Thompson has seen his time on ice increase every season and he could be counted on to play 20+ MPG, which will give him more opportunities.

Tracking NHL Player Prop Futures

We’re going to track how the NHL player prop futures above perform throughout the season. We’ll also keep ice hockey fans updated on the top performers in the NHL (goals, assists, points and more).

(November 1st 2023): None of my NHL player prop futures targeting goalscorers are performing well. Alex Ovechkin has two goals in eight games, Mitch Marner has two goals in nine games and Jordan Eberle has one goal in ten games. Alex DeBrincat and Frank Vatrano lead the NHL in goals (9).

Evgeni Malkin is on pace to score 70+ points, as he has 11 points in eight games. Connor Bedard isn’t on pace to cash over 69.5 points yet (six points in nine games), but he has three goals in his last four games. Jack Hughes leads the NHL in points, as he already has 18 points in eight games. David Pastrnak has silenced his doubters, as he has eight goals (3rd) and 14 points (5th) to start the season.

My NHL player prop futures for goalies are doing better. Alexander Georgiev leads the NHL in wins (6) and he’s well on his way to winning 35+ games. Joonas Korpisalo has only started five games, but he has 157 saves already, so he should get to 1,100+ saves as long as he gets enough playing time.

The two longshot NHL player prop futures are doing fine. Kyle Connor has 37 shots in nine games and is on pace to have 300+ shots if he stays healthy. Tage Thompson started the season slow, but he has five points in his last three games after having just one point in his first six games.

(December 19th 2023): Auston Matthews and Brock Boeser lead the NHL in goals (23). My goalscorer player props aren’t performing well. Alex Ovechkin (5 Goals), Mitch Marner (13 Goals) and Jordan Eberle (3 Goals) have all started slowly. Marner is still on pace to cash our 30+ goals prop.

Evgeni Malkin (26 Points) has slowed down after a fast start, but he’s still on pace for 70+ points. Connor Bedard (26 Points) is also barely on pace for 70+ points, but there’s still a lot of games to be played. My two goalie props are looking good. Alexander Georgiev has 15 wins in 24 games. He’s tied for second in the NHL in wins. Joonas Korpisalo has 455 saves in 17 games. If he keeps getting starts, he’ll hit over 1,100+ saves on the season.

My two longshot props aren’t looking good. Tage Thompson (15 Points) has had a horrible season. Kyle Connor was on pace for 300+ shots on goal, but he recently got injured and isn’t expected back until sometime in February, which means he won’t be able to cash this player prop.

Post All-Star Game NHL Player Prop Futures Update

(February 7th 2024): My season-long goal props aren’t performing well. Alex Ovechkin (10 goals) isn’t going to score 40 goals this season. Mitch Marner is up to 21 goals and could definitely cash his 30+ goals prop, but Jordan Eberle (9 goals) isn’t likely to score 20 goals this season, although he scored five goals in January, which was easily his best month so far.

NHL player prop futures are exciting and give you action to cheer on all season. Evgeni Malkin is up to 40 points, but he needs to heat up fast to have 70+ points this season. Connor Bedard (33 points) was on pace to have 70 points this season, but he went down with an injury since our last update and he’s still recovering. One issue with NHL player prop futures is injuries can derail a bet quickly.

My goalie prop futures are performing better. Alexander Georgiev is sitting at 27 wins and only needs eight more to cash over 34.5 wins for the season. Joonas Korpisalo has 825 saves and could still cash the 1,100+ saves prop depending upon how many games he’ll play down the stretch. The two longshot NHL player prop futures aren’t going to cash. Kyle Connor has missed a lot of time with injuries and Tage Thompson is having a down season.
