The 2023 ATP Tour is beginning to wind down after a memorable year, but the year would not be complete without some Erste Bank Open predictions.
Also known as the Vienna Open, the ATP 500 tournament has attracted many of the biggest names in men’s tennis. Daniil Medvedev (World No. 3) is back to defend his crown, with players like Jannik Sinner (World No. 4) and Andrey Rublev (World No. 5) hoping to snatch the title.
I will share my Erste Bank Open predictions a little later. First, let’s preview the tournament, discuss the latest outright odds and analyze the top contenders.

Top Players to Track – Erste Bank Open Predictions
I will be providing Erste Bank Open predictions for upcoming matches at the end of this article. Before we go any further, though, I want to take a closer look at the top contenders and potential sleepers.
In truth, it feels like this year’s Vienna Open is wide open. Of course, big-name players like Medvedev, Sinner, Rublev and Tsitsipas are expected to go all the way, but there are plenty of promising outsiders to keep an eye on.
With odds ranging from +300 to +3300, it only makes sense to assess all the betting angles before locking in your Erste Bank Open predictions. Let’s start with the leading contenders.
Evaluating the Favorites – Medvedev and Sinner
2023 has been another impressive year for Medvedev. Not only did the Russian win both the Miami Open and Italian Open, but he also reached the final of the US Open, losing against the unstoppable Novak Djokovic.
When you look at the bigger picture, Medvedev has reached five Grand Slam finals since 2019, triumphing at the 2021 US Open. Thanks to last year’s Erste Bank Open victory, he is the bookies’ favorite to retain the title.
As for Sinner, he now sits just one place below Medvedev in the ATP Rankings after winning the 2023 Canadian Open. The 22-year-old Italian also reached the Wimbledon semifinals earlier this year, highlighting his development.

Potential Sleepers to Consider – Tsitsipas and Shelton
In all honesty, I’m struggling to figure out why Tsitsipas is priced at +1100 to triumph in Vienna. Granted, the World No. 7 has struggled for form in recent months, but there is no reason why he can’t go all the way.
Let’s not forget that Tsitsipas reached the final of the Australian Open earlier this year, only to lose against – you guessed it – Djokovic. Although the 25-year-old is one of the highest-ranked players in the world, his price makes him an Erste Bank Open sleeper.
I also recommend keeping a close eye on Ben Shelton. After reaching the Australian Open quarterfinals, the 21-year-old American made it all the way to the US Open semifinals in September. He is priced at +2400 to lift the trophy in Austria.
Erste Bank Open Predictions – Upcoming Matches
There are six matches taking place on Wednesday, October 25, but to give you more time to lock in your picks, my Erste Bank Open predictions concern two standout clashes scheduled for Thursday, October 26.
Both matches are round-of-16 clashes featuring seeded players and big underdogs. Without further ado, here are my 2023 Erste Bank Open predictions and picks.
- Stefanos Tsitsipas (-225) vs. Tomas Machac (+175) – Stefanos Tsitsipas (-225)
- Matteo Arnaldi (+375) vs. Andrey Rublev (-550) – Best Bet: SIGN IN TO ACCESS PICK
I named Tsitsipas as one of my sleepers for this year’s Vienna Open, and I’m backing the Greece international to make light work of Tomas Machac.
Tsitsipas has reached two Grand Slam finals – including the 2023 Australia Open final – in addition to four semifinals since 2019. On the flip side, Machac is still finding his feet on the ATP Tour.
The second match sees Matteo Arnaldi take on Rublev. With all due respect to Arnaldi, he is nowhere near the level of Rublev. That said, Rublev has struggled for consistency of late, so Arnaldi will fancy his chances of upsetting the odds.
Hopefully, my Erste Bank Open predictions will help you land a tasty profit this week. With several tournaments remaining on the 2023 ATP Tour, be sure to return for more tennis predictions and picks in the coming weeks.
