Smart bettors learn to take advantage of sportsbook bonuses. Welcome bonuses, reload bonuses, free plays, and more are available virtually all the time at most sportsbooks. The bonuses are used to draw in new bettors and maintain the accounts of existing ones. Those that have been betting for some time learn how to take advantage of these sportsbook promotions and bonuses.
Our own Sports Hub handicappers have decades of experience in the sports betting industry. They understand how sportsbooks use bonuses as a marketing tool. They also understand the “$1000 First Bet” and the “Bet $5 Get $150” bonuses and how they work. Remember, sportsbooks are in business for one reason – to make money. You don’t make money by giving it away.
Not All Bonuses Are Created Equal
One thing any bettor should do before signing up at a sportsbook just because of the bonuses is to read the fine print. Popular welcome bonuses include something like I mentioned above – Bet $5 Get $150. Now, a sportsbook isn’t simply going to give you $150 just because you placed a $5 bet. They will, however, give you $150 in free plays.
After you place your initial $5 wager, the sportsbook will put $150 into your account. That $150 will be separate from any money you deposited into the account. This $150 may be called “bonuses” or “free plays,” but it will not be included with actual cash that was deposited into your account. That way, a bettor cannot simply withdraw $150 and run.
These bonuses, or free plays, can be used to place actual bets. Any winnings are credited to the bettor, but those winnings still won’t be available until the bettor has reached a rollover requirement. These are often given as 5x or 10x and mean “five times” and “ten times.”
Rollover Requirements & Bonuses
A rollover requirement means a bettor must wager a certain amount before any winnings produced can be withdrawn. For example, you deposit $200 into your new sportsbook account. The sportsbook’s bonus matches your deposit, but it includes a 10x rollover requirement. That means you must make $2000 ($200 x 10) worth of bets before you can withdraw any of the bonus money and any winnings.
As a smart bettor, you should look for sportsbooks and bonuses with lower rollover requirements. There are some out there with a simple 1x rollover. That same $200 deposit with a 1x rollover means you would place $200 ($200 x 1) worth of bets before you could access your bonuses. That’s a huge difference!
Sports Hub Cappers Provide Plenty of Bonuses
Each and every day, our SportsHub handicappers are providing bonuses to our members. These bonuses come in the form of wins and our guys were at it again yesterday. How’s this for a nice bonus – 19-4 and $1560? That was what our top-5 did yesterday and all five cappers were Sports Hub experts.
We can go even deeper and see that eight of the top-10 cappers on the board yesterday call Sports Hub home. We are taking over the betting world, people! There is simply nowhere else where you can find this level of consistency in sports predictions. Day in and day out, Sports Hub expert handicappers produce. Couple that with some nice sportsbook bonuses and you’re on your way to a winning bankroll!
Here’s a look at yesterday.
- Money in your pocket: William Taylor puts money in your pocket. He did it yesterday by going 5-1 with his picks and earning $390. That was tops on the leaderboard. Over the last three days, William is 10-5 and is up $457. He’s at $772 for the week.
- SWJ Sports wins big: Scott at SWJ Sports is a regular contributor here at Sports Hub. He’s also one of our top handicappers. Yesterday, he went 5-2 and earned $370. Like William, Scott is on one. He’s 8-4 over the last three days and is up $550.
- Watch your bankroll climb: Bill Blatt will help bettors build a solid bankroll with his expertise. Last night, that was evident as Bill went 4-1 and earned $300. Like William and Scott, Bill is also picking up steam as of late. He’s up $780 for the last three days and over the last seven days Bill is 20-9 with $1040 in winnings. That’s No. 1 on our 7-day leaderboard.
- The rest of the bunch: There were five more Sports Hub experts in yesterday’s final top-10. James Acker went 3-0 and earned $300. Three more – Diego Garcia, Neal Harris, and Seth Cohen – all went 2-0 and won $200. The Bookie rounded out the top-10 with a 3-1 record and $195 in winnings. Don’t forget, The Bookie is still up $2087 over the last 30 days. That’s No. 2 on the 30-day leaderboard behind another Sports Hub expert, Gino Russo ($2203).
It’s a Hoop-Heavy Schedule Today
On this Wednesday in December, we get a ton of basketball. Both the NBA and NCAA men offer us a ton of games to fill up betting boards. Maybe you check out a new sportsbook and see what bonuses are available and get in before we start a massive football weekend.
There is definitely value out there. It’s just a matter of finding it. Let Sports Hub’s handicappers help. There are already a couple dozen picks for tonight’s games in our database. Our experts will continue filling the database with more picks all day long. Sports Hub members have the luxury of being able to check for picks all day long. Just sayin’.
Here’s a look at today’s schedule.
- IST semi-final rematch: Milwaukee will host Indiana in a rematch of the NBA’s in-season tournament semifinal matchup. The Pacers got the best of the Bucks just last week in a 128-119 win. That is just one of nine NBA games on tonight’s schedule. The Lakers play the Spurs in San Antonio in the NBATV game.
- NCAA basketball: Another few dozen games are on tap tonight. It’s not as big a schedule as last week since most schools are in their finals weeks. Still, we have No. 8 Creighton, No. 15 Florida Atlantic, No. 18 BYU, and No. 25 Northwestern all playing tonight.
- TNT NHL doubleheader: It’s always a great hockey night on Wednesday because it’s TNT doubleheader night. Boston plays at New Jersey. The Bruins lead the Atlantic Division while the Devils are sixth in the Metropolitan. The late game is Buffalo (12-14-3) at Colorado (17-9-2). The Avalanche lead the Central Division and they are 10-4 at home this season.

Bonuses Aren’t the Only Thing Trending
Sportsbook bonuses are always trending. Every time you search for anything related to sports betting, you’ll see ads promoting the latest sportsbook bonuses. Take advantage of them, but make sure you understand the rollover requirement.
In addition to bonuses and promotions, there are a ton of things trending in the sports world. Who would have thought the Bears could be trending after starting the season 0-4? The NFC North has another team in the news as Minnesota, Green Bay, and Chicago all chase division leader Detroit. That sounds weird, doesn’t it?
Anyway, here’s a look at trending sports news.
- Jokic tossed: It was NBA fight night last night. Denver’s Nikola Jokic was ejected with 1:08 left in the second quarter of the Nuggets game against Chicago. Jokic yelled at an official, using some pretty colorful language. He got tossed from the game, but it didn’t matter. The Nuggets went on to win 114-106.
- Vikings announce starting QB: The Minnesota Vikings quarterback job has been a revolving door since Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles tendon. Josh Dobbs was benched last week and now head coach Kevin O’Connell has named Nick Mullens as the starter this Saturday when the Vikings play the Bengals.
- Draymond’s fisticuffs: While Jokic only used words, Draymond Green actually hit Phoenix C Jusuf Nurkic in last night’s Suns-Warriors game. The incident happened at the 8:23 mark of the third quarter. Nurkic was defending Green when he turned and swung his arms wildly, hitting Nurkic in the side of the head. It was Green’s third flagrant 2 foul of the season. The NBA will review the incident and determine any further penalties.
"The NBA now has to step in. Draymond Green is bad for the NBA now. He's a clown. He should now be suspended for the rest of the year. He's bad for basketball."

- Wizards, Capitals on the move: Ted Leonsis, who owns both the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards is planning to move both teams out of Washington, D.C., and into Virginia. Leonsis is working on a deal for new arena that would move both franchises into Alexandria, Va. Ground could be broken on the new facility by 2025 with the teams playing there in 2028.
- Da Bears: Has anyone noticed the Bears are 5-4 in their last nine games? The question is will that be enough to save head coach Matt Eberflus’ job? The defense is coming around. They’ve got the fourth-best rushing attack in the NFL and QB Justin Fields is dynamic. Chicago plays at Cleveland this week.
That’s a wrap. Make it a great day! Use the Sports Hub resources available to you. Check out any worthy sportsbook bonuses and see if you can use them to your advantage. Don’t forget to find closing line value as well. These simple strategies are used by our expert handicappers. They prove over and over that these tips work. If they are good enough for the best in the world, they are certainly good enough for you. Use them as part of your winning betting strategy. See you back here tomorrow!
