How Many Majors Will Novak Djokovic Win in 2024?

Novak Djokovic is arguably the greatest tennis player of all time. Of course, superstars like Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal may have something to say about that statement, but many believe that Djokovic is the GOAT. 

In 2023, the 36-year-old won three of the four majors, taking his career tally to 24. Now, the question on everyone’s lips is – how many majors will Novak Djokovic win in 2024? 

With the start of the new ATP season right around the corner, I dissect the bookies’ odds and assess Djokovic’s chances in 2024. I also study his record at each Grand Slam tournament to help me make my predictions.

NOVAK DJOKOVIC’S MAJOR WINS IN 2024 ODDS 

• One (+160) 
• Two (+175) 
• None (+350)

Unsurprisingly, the bookies expect Novak Djokovic to enjoy another hugely successful ATP season. The legendary Serb may be in the twilight of his career, but he is still the world’s number-one-ranked men’s singles player. 

Although Djokovic is favored to win one major tournament, the odds for him to win two titles are very similar. The fact that “none” is the bookies’ third likeliest option tells you everything you need to know about the player’s ability. 

“The Joker” won three of the four major tournaments in 2023, triumphing at the Australian Open, French Open and US Open. If you think he can repeat that feat in 2024, you can access tasty odds of +1600. 

Last season, Djokovic won three of the four majors in a year for the fourth time, having also achieved the feat in 2011, 2015 and 2021. He has never managed to win all four majors in a single season, but odds of +1600 for the Grand Slam clean sweep are bound to attract plenty of attention from bettors. 

What Are Djokovic’s Chances of Winning Each Major in 2024? 

Djokovic has claimed a record 24 major men’s singles titles over the years. The 36-year-old secured his first triumph all the way back in 2008 and has continued to pick up trophies at a frightening rate. 

It is worth noting, however, that Djokovic has his favorite tournaments. Granted, he has proved that he can dominate on any surface, but there is no denying that he prefers playing on certain courts. 

In this section, I discuss Djokovic’s chances of winning each major tournament in 2024. Not only do I look at the bookies’ latest odds, but I also consider his past achievements at each event to paint a clearer picture. 

Australian Open 

NOVAK DJOKOVIC’S AUSTRALIAN OPEN RECORD 

• Titles: 10 
• Runner-up: 0 
• 2023: Winner 

Djokovic is the undisputed king of the Australian Open. The Joker has reached 10 of the previous 16 Aussie Open finals, triumphing on each occasion. Let’s not forget that he also missed the 2022 edition of the tournament due to Australia’s coronavirus vaccination policy. 

2024 AUSTRALIAN OPEN ODDS 

• Novak Djokovic (+110) 
• Carlos Alcaraz (+240) 
• Daniil Medvedev (+450) 

As expected, Djokovic is the favorite to win the 2024 Australian Open. Having claimed the title in each of his previous four appearances in Melbourne, the boss of Rod Laver Arena will be confident of sealing a record-extending 11th title. 

French Open 

NOVAK DJOKOVIC’S FRENCH OPEN RECORD

• Runner-up: 4 
• 2023: Winner 

In terms of titles, the French Open is Djokovic’s weakest major tournament. After losing three finals between 2012 and 2015, he finally tasted victory at Roland Garros in 2016. That said, Djokovic has won two of the last three French Open titles, including last season. 

2024 FRENCH OPEN ODDS 

• Carlos Alcaraz (+150) 
• Novak Djokovic (+225) 
• Rafael Nadal (+400) 

The bookies believe that Carlos Alcaraz stands the best chance of winning the 2024 French Open. Following a quarterfinal appearance in 2022, the 20-year-old Spaniard reached the semifinals last season. Can he go one better in 2024? Or will Djokovic defend his crown? 

Wimbledon 

NOVAK DJOKOVIC’S WIMBLEDON RECORD 

• Titles: 7 
• Runner-up: 2 
• 2023: Runner-up 

The Wimbledon trophy was the only piece of major silverware that Djokovic didn’t get his hands on in 2023. Still, the Serb has won four of the previous five Wimbledon titles, meaning he has a total of seven triumphs to his name. 

2024 WIMBLEDON ODDS 

• Carlos Alcaraz (+150) 
• Novak Djokovic (+175) 
• Daniil Medvedev (+1200) 

Having defeated Djokovic in the 2023 Wimbledon final, Alcaraz is favored to defend his title in 2024. That said, Djokovic’s odds are only marginally higher. With Daniil Medvedev priced at +1200, we will likely see a two-horse race for the title. 

US Open 

NOVAK DJOKOVIC’S US OPEN RECORD

• 2023: Winner 

By his own high standards, Djokovic had to wait a long time to win his fourth US Open title. After reaching eight finals between 2007 and 2018 – winning three and losing five – he finally regained the US Open crown last season. 

2024 US OPEN ODDS 

• Novak Djokovic (+130) 
• Carlos Alcaraz (+250) 
• Daniil Medvedev (+750) 

Despite Alcaraz’s 2022 US Open success, Djokovic is favored to triumph in New York in 2024. In fact, this is Djokovic’s second-lowest price to win a major tournament next season. Once again, Alcaraz is viewed as the 36-year-old’s biggest threat here. 

What Can Novak Djokovic Achieve in 2024? 

Over the past few years, Djokovic has aged like a fine wine. Countless pundits, analysts and fans have written him off as he heads towards his late thirties, but the iconic Serb has continued to defy his age and stockpile trophies. 

Djokovic has won at least two major tournaments in six of the previous nine seasons, winning three titles in a single year on four occasions throughout his career. With that in mind, I’m confident that he will claim multiple titles in 2024. 

That said, Djokovic’s age – and the emergence of Alcaraz – will likely limit him to no more than two major titles next season. After winning the 2022 US Open, Alcaraz signaled the start of a new era by defeating Djokovic in the 2023 Wimbledon final. 

If you’re feeling brave, I wouldn’t stop you from backing Djokovic to win three majors (+600) in 2024. However, I’m backing him to win two (+175). I recommend locking in your bets as soon as possible before Djokovic wins the Australian Open and the odds drop.
