Cordoba Open predictions are on this week’s SportsHub tennis menu. The ATP 250 tournament is back for its sixth edition, and some of the world’s best players are set to compete for the title this year.

World No. 22 Francisco Cerundolo and World No. 25 Sebastian Baez are the bookies’ pre-tournament favorites. Cerundolo triumphed in Cordoba back in 2021 before Baez secured the silverware last year.

However, guys like Sebastian Ofner and Tomas Martin Etcheverry will also fancy their chances of lifting the trophy this time around. I hope you can keep reading to discover my 2024 Cordoba Open predictions and picks.

2024 Cordoba Open Preview

  • Dates: February 5-11
  • Location: Cordoba, Argentina
  • Venue: Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes
  • Surface: Clay (Outdoor)
  • Edition: 6th
  • Defending Champion: Sebastian Baez

The sixth edition of the Cordoba Open gets underway on Monday, February 5. The ATP 250 tournament comprises a singles event and a double event, although my Cordoba Open predictions concern only the singles event.

Baez is the defending champion, having triumphed on home soil last year. However, several Argentines are in the running for this year’s title. Let’s take a look at the bookies’ odds for the singles event.

2024 CORDOBA OPEN OUTRIGHT ODDS (TOP 15)

  • Francisco Cerundolo (+550)
  • Sebastian Baez (+550)
  • Sebastian Ofner (+850)
  • Tomas Martin Etcheverry (+1000)
  • Alejandro Tabilo (+1100)
  • Daniel Altmaier (+1200)
  • Diego Sebastian Schwartzman (+1200)
  • Yannick Hanfmann (+1400)
  • Federico Coria (+1600)
  • Albert Ramos-Vinolas (+2000)
  • Cristian Garin (+2000)
  • Pedro Cachin (+2000)
  • Roberto Carballes Baena (+2000)
  • Thiago Seyboth Wild (+2000)
  • Facundo Diaz Acosta (+2200)

Three of the top four favorites are from Argentina, with Cerundolo and Baez leading the way. Tomas Martin Etcheverry also hails from Argentina, while Sebastian Ofner is Austrian.

With 12 players priced between +1000 and +2200 to lift the trophy, there is no shortage of outright value on offer. If you research and play your cards right, you could earn a tasty profit at the end of the tournament.

Analyzing the 2024 Cordoba Open Favorites

Before I share my Cordoba Open predictions with you, I want to examine the top contenders closely. Cerundolo and Baez are locked at +550 atop the outright odds list, but Ofner also deserves a mention at +850.

  • Francisco Cerundolo (+550) – It’s safe to say that Cerundolo is a clay specialist. Since 2020, the 25-year-old has won five Challenger tournaments on clay and reached the fourth round of the French Open last year. Plus, Cerundolo reached two ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinals in 2023, highlighting his recent rise.
  • Sebastian Baez (+550) – Like Cerundolo, Baez has established himself as something of a clay expert. The 23-year-old has won six Challenger tournaments on clay since 2021, although he lost the 2022 Swedish Open final to Cerundolo. Can he exact revenge on his compatriot in the coming days?
  • Sebastian Ofner (+850) – In 2023, Ofner lost five consecutive Challenger finals before winning the Salzburg Open. Earlier this year, however, the Austrian No. 1 reached the semifinals in Hong Kong to break into the top 40 of the ATP Rankings. It feels like the 27-year-old carries plenty of momentum into the Cordoba Open.

2024 Cordoba Open Predictions – Round of 32

Who’s ready for some Cordoba Open predictions? Having assessed the odds and analyzed the top contenders, I’m confident that my predictions will help you make a tasty profit in the coming days.

The qualifiers took place on the weekend, meaning the tournament will begin for real on Monday, February 5. That said, my Cordoba Open predictions and picks concern three standout matches scheduled for Tuesday, February 6.

Can Francisco Comesana upset the odds against Alejandro Tabilo? Will Christian Garin get the better of Bernabe Zapata Miralles? Could Federico Coria overcome Daniel Altmaier? Read on to discover my Cordoba Open predictions.

Alejandro Tabilo vs. Francisco Comesana Prediction

Odds: Alejandro Tabilo (-200) / Francisco Comesana (+160)

Priced at +1100, Tabilo is the bookies’ fifth favorite to win in Argentina. Meanwhile, Comesana is priced at +2500 to secure the silverware. As a result, Tabilo is expected to defeat Comesana in their opening match.

Last month, Tabilo won the ASB Classic in New Zealand, defeating Taro Daniel in the final to claim his first 250 Series title. The Chilean also won two Challenger tournaments back in November, underlining his strong form.

Comesana also claimed a few titles last year, but the 23-year-old is still learning his trade. For that reason, I’m backing Tabilo to beat Comesana on this occasion.

Best Bet: Alejandro Tabilo (-200)

Bernabe Zapata Miralles vs. Christian Garin Prediction

Odds: Bernabe Zapata Miralles (+120) / Christian Garin (-154)

Garin has fond memories of competing in Cordoba, having lifted the trophy back in 2020. Since then, the 27-year-old has won the Rio Open and the Chile Open, although his form has fluctuated over the years.

That said, Garin reached the third round of both the Australian Open and the French Open last season before making it all the way to the Wimbledon quarterfinals, reminding the tennis world of his undeniable ability.

On the other hand, Zapata Miralles failed to make it past the second round at any of the Grand Slam tournaments in 2023. Still, the Spaniard will be hopeful of upsetting the odds against Garin.

Federico Coria vs. Daniel Altmaier Prediction

Odds: Federico Coria (+125) / Daniel Altmaier (-154)

Corica came within one set of winning the Cordoba Open last year. After taking the second to level the final, the 31-year-old lost the final set to hand Baez this title.

Since then, Corica has lost a couple of Challenger finals, including the Brasil Tennis Challenger earlier this month. The Argentine will be eager to rediscover his best form on home soil, but Altmaier will have other ideas.

Altmaier is the bookies’ favorite for Tuesday’s match. Since May 2022, he has won four Challenger tournaments. The German also reached the third round of the French Open last year and the Madrid Open quarterfinals.
