Cavaliers & Game 7 History

The Cavaliers do have some Game 7 history. Cleveland has played in seven Game 7s in franchise history. The Cavaliers are 5-2 in those seven games. The last time the Cavs played a first-round Game 7 was in 2018 when they faced the Indiana Pacers. Cleveland won the game and went on to play in another Game 7 on the road in Boston in the Eastern Conference finals.

The Cavs won that game too and made the NBA Finals. They were swept in four games by the Golden State Warriors. That 2017-18 team featured LeBron James before his move to Los Angeles. The Cavaliers are built much different now.

Since 1947, there have been 148 Game 7s in the NBA postseason. Seven of those Game 7s needed an overtime period to produce a winner. One of those seven even went to double overtime before a winner was declared. Are the Cavaliers and Magic in store for that type of game today?

So far in the series, four of the six games have gone Under the total. Today’s total is just 195.5. Orlando has covered the last four games in a row. Five of the six games have been decided by seven or more points. Only one game – Game 5 – was decided by one possession (104-103). The Cavaliers are favored by 3.5 today.
