Blue Jackets 6, Oilers 1

The Edmonton Oilers lost both center Connor McDavid and the game, as the Columbus Blue Jackets handed them a 6-1 defeat. McDavid sustained a lower-body injury in the opening minute after sliding into the boards. Edmonton will re-evaluate McDavid’s status once he returns home.

Sean Monahan scored twice, while Cole Sillinger added a goal and two assists to lead the Blue Jackets. Adam Fantilli had a goal and an assist, and Elvis Merzlikins made 31 saves. Mattias Ekholm scored the lone goal for Edmonton, with Stuart Skinner stopping 19 shots.


Maple Leafs 6, Jets 4

John Tavares delivered a hat trick and William Nylander added a goal and two assists to lift the Toronto Maple Leafs over the previously undefeated Winnipeg Jets. The Maple Leafs snapped their three-game losing streak, extending their win streak over Winnipeg to six games.

Kyle Connor scored twice for the Jets, while Mark Scheifele and Gabriel Vilardi each contributed a goal. Toronto’s Anthony Stolarz made 19 saves, ending Winnipeg’s 16-game regular-season winning streak.

Golden Knights 5, Flames 0

Keegan Kolesar scored twice, securing his first multi-goal game, as the Vegas Golden Knights shut out the Calgary Flames 5-0. Adin Hill recorded 16 saves for his first shutout this season, and Mark Stone and Alex Pietrangelo also found the net. Vegas improved to 7-0-0 at home.

Dan Vladar made 33 saves for Calgary, which has now lost three consecutive games.


Panthers 5, Sabres 2

Returning to the lineup, Aleksander Barkov scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Florida Panthers to a 5-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Sam Reinhart and Carter Verhaeghe each had a goal and an assist, and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 26 shots for his third straight win.

Buffalo’s Jason Zucker and Rasmus Dahlin each scored, while Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 26 saves.

Lightning 3, Predators 2 (OT)

Nick Paul scored 3:22 into overtime as the Tampa Bay Lightning edged the Nashville Predators. Brayden Point added a goal and an assist, with Andrei Vasilevskiy stopping 35 shots.

Ryan O’Reilly and Gustav Nyquist scored for Nashville, which secured a point in its fourth straight game.


Sharks 5, Utah 4 (OT)

The San Jose Sharks mounted a comeback from a three-goal deficit, with Alexander Wennberg scoring the overtime winner against Utah. Fabian Zetterlund scored twice, while Mikael Granlund had a goal and two assists.

San Jose goalie Mackenzie Blackwood made 19 saves, while Utah’s Connor Ingram stopped 40 shots in the loss.


Hurricanes 4, Canucks 3 (OT)

Sebastian Aho scored just 47 seconds into overtime, giving the Carolina Hurricanes a 4-3 victory over the Vancouver Canucks. Carolina completed a successful 5-1-0 road trip, with Martin Necas contributing a goal and an assist. Pyotr Kochetkov saved 24 shots.

Vancouver’s Brock Boeser and Quinn Hughes each had a goal and an assist, while goalie Kevin Lankinen made 28 saves.

Blackhawks 5, Avalanche 2

Ryan Donato scored twice, leading the Chicago Blackhawks to a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Jason Dickinson had two assists, while goalie Petr Mrazek made 24 saves.

Nathan MacKinnon extended his points streak to 10 games for Colorado, scoring once, while Alexandar Georgiev made 21 saves.
