Sharks 1, Devils 0 – Blackwood’s 44 Saves Lift San Jose Over New Jersey

Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 44 shots against his former team, leading the San Jose Sharks to a 1-0 win over the New Jersey Devils. Nico Sturm scored the game’s lone goal in the first period after a fortunate bounce, which proved enough as Blackwood held off a relentless Devils offense, denying them on multiple second-chance opportunities.

New Jersey, despite outshooting San Jose, was held scoreless for the second time this season. Jake Allen made 26 saves in net for the Devils, who were unable to extend their three-game winning streak and fell to 5-2-0 in their past seven games.
