NHL roundup: Oilers win fifth straight, double up Knights

Oilers 6, Golden Knights 3

Leon Draisaitl scored his league-leading 22nd goal and added two assists, leading the Edmonton Oilers to a commanding 6-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Connor Brown contributed a goal and an assist each, while Stuart Skinner made 38 saves as Edmonton extended its win streak to five games.

Vegas, which entered the game with a four-game winning streak, saw Ivan Barbashev net his team-high 15th goal. However, Adin Hill allowed a season-high six goals on 28 saves for the Golden Knights.


Senators 3, Penguins 2 (OT)

Brady Tkachuk scored the overtime game-winner, his 15th goal of the season, as Ottawa defeated Pittsburgh. Tkachuk’s toe-drag and finish gave the Senators their third consecutive win and fifth victory in their last seven games (5-1-1).

Thomas Chabot had a goal and an assist, while Linus Ullmark stopped 25 shots in net for Ottawa. Kris Letang and Blake Lizotte scored for Pittsburgh, which suffered its second straight loss.

Stars 2, Blues 1 (OT)

Matt Duchene scored on an overtime rush to lift the Dallas Stars past the St. Louis Blues. Jason Robertson added a goal and an assist, and Jake Oettinger made 15 saves to secure the victory.

Jordan Kyrou scored the lone goal for St. Louis, while Jordan Binnington recorded 35 saves in the loss.


Ducks 4, Blue Jackets 3 (OT)

Alex Killorn tallied twice, including the overtime winner, as the Anaheim Ducks snapped a five-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over Columbus.

Mason McTavish scored to record his 100th career point, and John Gibson made 39 saves for Anaheim. Kirill Marchenko and Cole Sillinger scored for Columbus, which has dropped six of its last seven games (1-4-2).


Devils 4, Blackhawks 1

Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, and Timo Meier each scored in a third-period surge as the New Jersey Devils downed the Chicago Blackhawks. Dawson Mercer opened the scoring for New Jersey, and Jacob Markstrom made 16 saves.

Jason Dickinson scored for Chicago, while rookie goalie Drew Commesso stopped 20 of 24 shots in his first NHL start.


Bruins 5, Canucks 1

David Pastrnak recorded four points, including his 400th career assist, as the Boston Bruins cruised to a 5-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Pavel Zacha and Morgan Geekie each added multiple points for Boston.

Max Sasson scored his first NHL goal for Vancouver, and Thatcher Demko made 23 saves in the loss.


Kings 5, Rangers 1

The Los Angeles Kings erupted for three goals in the second period en route to a 5-1 victory over the New York Rangers. Adrian Kempe, Quinton Byfield, Alex Turcotte, and Warren Foegele each recorded a goal and an assist. Darcy Kuemper made 31 saves to secure the win.

Phillip Danault, Byfield, and Kempe all scored in the first five minutes of the second period, chasing Igor Shesterkin (16 saves) from the game.


Wild 4, Flyers 1

Kirill Kaprizov scored twice to lead the Minnesota Wild to a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Matt Boldy and Marco Rossi also scored for Minnesota, and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 20 shots to earn his 567th career victory.

Travis Sanheim scored for Philadelphia, which had its two-game winning streak snapped.


Red Wings 4, Maple Leafs 2

Jeff Petry scored his first two goals of the season, helping the Detroit Red Wings defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ville Husso made 23 saves for his first victory in over a year, and Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond added goals for Detroit.

Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies scored for Toronto, which had won five of its last seven games.


Lightning 5, Kraken 1

Jake Guentzel extended his goal streak to six games, tallying a goal and an assist in Tampa Bay’s dominant win over the Seattle Kraken. Brandon Hagel scored twice, while Brayden Point and Declan Carlile also added goals. Jonas Johansson made 21 saves in his return to the net.

Brandon Montour scored the lone goal for Seattle, which has now lost two of its last seven games (4-2-1).


Capitals 4, Sabres 2

Dylan Strome scored the game-winner in the third period as Washington downed Buffalo for its fourth consecutive victory. Tom Wilson scored twice, and John Carlson collected three assists for the Capitals, who are now 8-0-1 in their last nine games.

Jason Zucker and Jiri Kulich scored for Buffalo, which has lost nine straight (0-6-3).


Jets 4, Canadiens 2

Gabriel Vilardi and Kyle Connor each recorded a goal and an assist, propelling the Winnipeg Jets to a 4-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Josh Morrissey added two assists, and Connor Hellebuyck made 26 saves.

Lane Hutson and Josh Anderson scored for Montreal, which has now lost five of its last seven games.


Avalanche 5, Predators 2

Nathan MacKinnon scored twice, and Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 37 shots in his debut as the Colorado Avalanche topped the Nashville Predators. Artturi Lehkonen also scored twice, and Mikko Rantanen added three assists.

Steven Stamkos and Luke Evangelista scored for Nashville, which has lost nine of its last 10 games.


Flames 3, Panthers 0

Nazem Kadri scored for the third straight game, and Dustin Wolf made 32 saves as the Calgary Flames shut out the Florida Panthers. Mikael Backlund and Blake Coleman also scored for Calgary, which won for just the second time in its last five games.

Spencer Knight made 24 saves in relief of Sergei Bobrovsky, who was rested for Florida. The Panthers were shut out for the second consecutive game.

Utah Hockey Club 4, Sharks 3

Clayton Keller scored the game-winner and added an assist as Utah defeated San Jose. Logan Cooley and Mikhail Sergachev each had two assists, and Karel Vejmelka made 19 saves to seal the win for Utah, which has won four of its last five games.

Fabian Zetterlund tallied a goal and an assist for San Jose, which has lost four of five.
