Will Howard led Ohio State to a dominant victory, throwing for 311 yards and two touchdowns. Both scores were caught by standout receiver Jeremiah Smith, who totaled 103 yards on six receptions. TreVeyon Henderson added to the offensive barrage, rushing for 80 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries.
The Buckeyes built a commanding 21-0 lead in the first quarter, showcasing their dominance early. Howard finished with an efficient 24 of 29 completions, marred only by one interception. Ohio State’s defense also held Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava in check, limiting him to 104 passing yards. Despite rushing for two touchdowns, Iamaleava struggled to find rhythm against the Buckeyes’ relentless defense.
With the win, Ohio State (11-2) advances to face top-seeded Oregon (13-0) in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.

No. 5 Texas 38, No. 12 Clemson 24
Texas leaned on its powerful ground game to dispatch Clemson, led by Jaydon Blue’s 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Blue’s highlight moment came with a 77-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, sealing the victory for the Longhorns.
Quinn Ewers complemented the rushing attack with 202 passing yards and a touchdown, while Quintrevion Wisner added 110 rushing yards and two scores. The Longhorns dominated the ground game, outgaining the Tigers 292-76 in rushing yards.
Clemson’s Cade Klubnik threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns, with T.J. Moore contributing nine receptions for 116 yards and a score. Despite these efforts, the Tigers (10-4) couldn’t overcome Texas’ balanced offensive attack.
Texas (12-2) advances to meet No. 4 Arizona State in the Peach Bowl on Jan. 1.

No. 6 Penn State 38, No. 11 SMU 10
Penn State’s defense shined in frigid conditions, with Dominic DeLuca and Tony Rojas each returning interceptions for touchdowns in a decisive victory over SMU. DeLuca added a second interception, spearheading a defensive effort that smothered the Mustangs.
The Nittany Lions (12-2) built a commanding 28-0 halftime lead, aided by Nicholas Singleton’s 90 rushing yards and a touchdown and Kaytron Allen’s two rushing scores. Quarterback Drew Allar managed the game efficiently, completing 13 of 22 passes for 127 yards.
SMU (11-3) struggled to handle the Nittany Lions’ physicality and the 25-degree weather, which felt even colder due to wind chill.
Penn State will face No. 3 Boise State (12-1) in the Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 31.
