Are you ready for Sanderson Farms Championship predictions? The Ryder Cup has come to its conclusion after Europe secured a 16 ½ – 11 ½ victory over the USA to win back the trophy.
Now, we return to the PGA Tour as the Fall Series resumes with the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship at Jackson Country Club, Mississippi. The likes of Ludvig Aberg, Eric Cole and Stephan Jaeger will be popular selections in Sanderson Farms Championship predictions.
The 2022 tournament went to a playoff as Mackenzie Hughes defeated Sepp Straka, but what will happen this time around? Check out my preview and predictions below.
2023 Ryder Cup Results
Everybody loves the thrills and the spectacle of the Ryder Cup and the 2023 edition from Rome unduly delivered. Luke Donald led Europe to the victory as they exacted revenge following their humiliation in Wisconsin in 2021.
I had two Ryder Cup picks last week as I backed Europe for the victory. However, I missed out on my winning margin selection as I had Europe to win by 1-3 points. Nevertheless, it was good to pick the overall winner of the tournament.

2023 Sanderson Farms Championship Preview
When: Thursday, October 5th – Sunday, October 8th, 2023
Where: The Country Club of Jackson, Mississippi
TV: ESPN+ / Golf Channel / Peacock
Field: 156 Golfers
Purse: $8,200,000 (Winner gets $1,476,000)
Jackson Country Club has now played host to the Sanderson Farms Championship for the past ten successive editions. This marks the second event of the PGA Tour FedEx Fall Series after Sahith Theegala won the Fortinet Championship last month.
Hughes is the current tournament holder after he was victorious in 2022 after beating Straka in a playoff. He is priced at +7000 entering the competition and so is not expected to retain his title.
Fresh off success at the Ryder Cup last weekend, Aberg heads the market at a price of +950. Emiliano Grillo will also likely prove to be a strong competitor here and is currently at +2000 to win. Cole and Jaeger are expected to compete as well and will be popular choices.
Country Club of Jackson Course Information
Par: 72 / Yards: 7,461
Greens: Bermudagrass
Par 3s: 4 / Par 4s: 10 / Par 5s: 4
The Country Club of Jackson was founded in 1914 and the course was designed by John Fought after being updated in 2008. It has been the home of the Sanderson Farms Championship since 2014.
Expectations are for putting to be particularly tough, with many golfers experiencing three-putt holes in the past. It is important for golfers to excel in being accurate from tee to green, with a focus on driving distance. With large greens on offer, competitors should feel confident about hitting them.
Expert Sanderson Farms Championship Predictions for 2023
Aberg (+950) is the current favorite to go on and win the Sanderson Farms Championship after he helped Team Europe to Ryder Cup success. The 23-year-old Swede impressed in Rome last week and many consider him one of the best players in the field here.
Nevertheless, there is concern about how Aberg will perform post-Ryder Cup and, as a result, many are fading him. He could still be running off the adrenaline from the victory and is a fine ball-striker which will bode well in Jackson. However, his price may not offer the best value. Continue reading to find out whether he is one of my picks for Sanderson Farms Championship predictions below.
Cole (+1750) is another popular choice for Sanderson Farms Championship predictions and his price offers a lot more value than Aberg. He finished in fourth at the Fortinet Championship last month so he is in good form heading to Jackson. However, Cole did miss the cut in 2022 as he shot +2.
Grillo (+2000) finished T5 at this tournament last year as he finished 13-under. His rank of 33rd in the PGA Tour World Rankings means he is the highest ranked golfer in the field. The Argentine is one of very few at Sanderson Farms to have finished inside the top 50 of the FedEx Cup rankings. His quality as a golfer is undisputed but he did finish second from last at the Tour Championship back in August.
Top Contenders to Win the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship
Aberg, Cole and Grillo will all be very popular picks for this year’s tournament. However, Jaeger (+1750) is another one of the shorter-priced selections. He has performed well on Par 5s of late and that could help him here.
Sharps are hot on Jaeger and have been for the past few months. Now could be the time for the German to get a result. He is looking to earn his first triumph on the PGA Tour and will aim to utilize his competent all-round ability in Jackson, especially on Bermudagrass.
S.H. Kim (+2300) is in the top five in terms of odds heading into the tournament. He finished second at the Fortinet Championship in September and recorded a T13 finish at Sanderson Farms in 2022. He could be a wise selection in 2023.
Longshots to Win the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship
With a lack of quality in the field, we have a host of potential longshot selections this week. Adam Svensson (+3500) looks set to be a good value pick. He finished T54 in 2022 at Sanderson Farms which is not the best of results but his experience of the course should help him this time around. He’s been in strong form of late too, finishing T15 at the BMW Championship.
Keith Mitchell (+2800) is shorter than Svensson but offers another longshot selection. It is a very open Sanderson Farms so landing the winner could provide some big profits. Despite missing the cut when he played here in 2021, his T5 finish at the 3M back in July proves his ability. He is also ranked just three spots behind Cole in the World Rankings.
The final player I will be looking at for my Sanderson Farms Championship predictions is Callum Tarren (+4000). He secured a T7 finish at Fortinet Championship and, despite missing the cut at the Wyndham Championship, he finished in a respectable 13th at the 3M. He also finished T13 in the 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship.
2023 Sanderson Farms Championship Predictions – Outright Winner
I have selected a total of three outright winners for my Sanderson Farms Championship predictions. I managed to pick Europe as the winner of the Ryder Cup last week and also selected Viktor Hovland to win the Tour Championship.
That means I am in good form for my golf picks so hopefully I can continue that trend here in the Sanderson Farms. To view my picks and full Sanderson Farms Championship predictions, you need to sign-up to Sports Hub to gain full access.

2023 Sanderson Farms Championship Picks – Top 5 Finish
Not only have I selected outright winners but I have also made two picks in terms of a top 5 finish. These will act as a security if none of my outright selections land for my Sanderson Farms Championship predictions.
Kim offers very solid odds for a top 5 finish (+700) and, after finishing second at the Fortinet Championship last month, I am backing him to perform well again here to keep up his Fall Series form.
I will also be selecting Tarren (+850) for a top 5 finish. I like his recent form and his performance in this tournament last year was encouraging.
Best Bet: S.H. Kim (+700) & Callum Tarren (+850)
