Sports Hub’s NFL Wild Card Report has arrived and that means the Divisional playoffs are now set! How successful were your Wild Card selections? Our expert cappers can’t stop winning and that trend has continued into the postseason.
14 teams have now been reduced to eight and we are one step closer to finding out who is going to reach Super Bowl LVIII. I don’t know about you, but I have loved the start to the playoffs so far, and it’s only going to get better!
My NFL Wild Card Report will take a look at the top cappers to kick off the postseason, the trending news after Wild Card Weekend, and the schedule for the Divisional Round. Let’s dive in!
2024 NFL Wild Card Report – Trust Scott’s Picks
The Wild Card games began on Saturday with Browns-Texans taking place from NRG Stadium. We saw some shock surprises throughout the weekend and, overall, it wasn’t the best for our experts. Nevertheless, 22 cappers still managed to turn a profit.
Nobody had a better start to the postseason, though, than Scott’s Picks. Scott raked in a $592 profit, winning seven of his eight picks. He’ll be hoping that trend continues throughout the playoffs. He’s certainly the star capper in our NFL Wild Card Report.
You’ve only got to take a look at Sports Hub’s best capper over the past month to know just how good Scott has been of late. He leads our overall 30-day leaderboard, earning $2846!
It was a successful Wild Card Sunday for our regular NFL experts as the likes of Knup Sports – POTD, The Bookie and Scott’s Picks went 2-0 to net $200. It’s great to see our regulars continue to crush it during the business end of the season.

Here’s our top cappers in my 2024 NFL Wild Card Report:
- Scott’s Picks: It doesn’t matter whether it’s spreads or totals right now, Scott is on fire! He kicked things off by nailing the Texans to cover at +2 and also had the over for his totals bet in that game. He then had the Chiefs and under, followed by the Packers and over. Despite having the Eagles at -3, he still correctly called the under in that game to round off a fantastic weekend!
- A 3-0 Record: Two of our cappers boasted a 3-0 record this week as Mike Williams and Ross Walker netted $300 each. Mike fancied the underdog in two of his winners this week, nailing the Packers and the Bucs to cover. Meanwhile, Ross had the Bills -10, Rams +3 and Texans +2.
- Hunter Price: Hunter kept it simple to begin the playoff season by putting in just two picks. However, he went 100% to earn a solid $200. He had the Bills and the Rams both to cover. He has won five consecutive overall picks, too, so is in great form right now.
- Sports Hub Regulars: You may be familiar with guys like Bill Blatt and Sports Central. These two handicappers are always floating around the leaderboards when it comes to NFL picks. They both went 2-0 during Wild Card Weekend.
2024 NFL Wild Card Report – Trending News
The city of Detroit is on a huge high right now. Jared Goff came out on top in the quarterback battle against Matthew Stafford as the pair took part in a revenge game against their former teams.
The Lions offense looked primed and ready to start the game as they quickly raced to a 21-10 lead, scoring on each of their first three drives. As Dan Campbell put it: “You’re good enough for f—ing Detroit, Jared Goff!” Goff and the Lions are the feel-good story in my NFL Wild Card Report.
It was a disaster for the Dallas Cowboys as they went crashing out of the playoffs, suffering a 48-32 defeat to the Green Bay Packers. Dallas found themselves 27 points down in the second quarter after touchdowns from Aaron Jones, Dontayvion Wicks, and a pick-six scored by safety Darnell Savage.
Young QBs shone during the Wild Card Round and Jordan Love and C.J. Stroud led their teams to victory with some stunning performances. Baker Mayfield also put in a phenomenal display to send the Eagles home. Could these guys be top-ten quarterbacks? Take a look at the rest of the highlights in my NFL Wild Card Report below.
2024 NFL Wild Card Report – Highlights
- Detroit’s playoff triumph: It was the first playoff win for the Lions since 1991 and they have now secured another home game in the Divisional Round against the Bucs. The Rams were able to cover as they were at +3 before the game, but it was Detroit who secured the narrow 24-23 victory.
- Choking Cowboys: Quarterback Dak Prescott threw two interceptions throughout the game and had a passer rating of just 61.2 when the scores were at 48-16. He bolstered his stats in garbage time, but, ultimately, he failed to shine in the postseason yet again. Prescott has a record of 2-5 in the playoffs.
- Love is in the air: However, for all of the choking that the Cowboys have shown, we have to give praise to Jordan Love. Love finished the game with 272 passing yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions, completing 16 of his 21 pass attempts.
- Is C.J. elite?: We can’t forget about the incredible performance by C.J. Stroud on Saturday as he helped the Texans beat the Browns 45-14. Stroud completed 16 of his 21 pass attempts, throwing three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Take note, Dak.
- Eagles Crash & Burn: Well, what a disaster the last couple of months have been for Philly. Their woes this season culminated in a dreadful 32-9 loss to the Bucs, and, quite simply, they didn’t show up. We’ve got to give props to Baker Mayfield, however, who’s having a comeback year. Baker was baking on Monday night, throwing for 337 yards and three touchdowns. In other news, seven-time Pro Bowler Jason Kelce has announced his retirement after the loss.

A look To The Divisional Round
The first round of the playoffs has concluded and we are nearing the end of my NFL Wild Card Report. However, the Divisional Round matchups have now been set, and the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens return this week. The next set of playoff games get underway this Saturday!
Let’s take a look at what’s coming up in the Divisional Round:
- Texans-Ravens: The Divisional Round kicks off with AFC South champions the Texans heading to Maryland to take on the No.1 seed in the AFC in the Ravens. The game takes place on Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET. Lamar Jackson is starting in his first playoff game since 2020. The Ravens are currently 9.5 favorites. The total is set at 45.
- Packers-Niners: Saturday playoff games continue with Green Bay traveling to Santa Clara to face the No.1 seed in the NFC in the 49ers. Kick off is at 8:15 p.m. ET. San Francisco are currently 10-point favorites, but the Packers are in great shape at the moment, winning their last four straight. The current total is set high at 50. We could be in for a shootout.
- Bucs-Lions: Sunday games start with the Bucs heading to Michigan to face off against the Lions at 3:00 p.m. ET. Detroit are looking to win back-to-back playoff games for the first time since 1957. They’re six-point favorites as well, but Tampa Bay have won six of their last seven games.
- Chiefs-Bills: Divisional games finish up with Kansas City heading to Buffalo in what is Patrick Mahomes’ first road playoff matchup. The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET. This has been a classic AFC rivalry in recent years, and the Bills will be searching for revenge following their 42-36 OT loss during the 2021 Divisional Round clash. They’re three-point favorites too. The total is currently set at 46.
What an opening to the postseason we’ve had! I’ve had a blast writing my NFL Wild Card Report and I can’t wait for the Divisional playoff games to get underway. Our handicappers will be flooding the system with their picks throughout the week as we get closer to kick off.
I’ll be back next week after the Divisional Round to summarize all the action. The Championship games will then be determined and the number of teams left in the postseason will be reduced from eight to four!
If your team is still in the playoffs, we wish you good luck for the weekend. Be sure to continue checking out our expert picks. Playoff football is quite simply the best. High-stakes games with an abundance of twists and turns. That’s why us sports junkies love it. Catch you next week!
