The United States dominated China in Perth on Wednesday to secure a place in the semifinals of the United Cup in Australia.

Taylor Fritz, ranked No. 4 in the world, set the tone with a convincing 6-4, 6-4 victory over Zhizhen Zhang. Coco Gauff followed up with a strong performance, defeating Shuai Zhang 7-6 (4), 6-2 in singles. The Americans sealed the sweep in mixed doubles, with Desirae Krawczyk and Robert Galloway outlasting Zhang and Fajing Sun 6-3, 6-7 (1), 10-3.

The United States now advances to face either Italy or Czechia in the semifinals, joining Kazakhstan, which defeated Germany 2-1 earlier in the day. Elena Rybakina cruised to victory, while Alexander Shevchenko earned a hard-fought three-set win to propel Kazakhstan forward.

Additionally, Katie Boulter of Great Britain breezed past Australia’s Olivia Gadecki 6-2, 6-1, helping her team secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
