Dubai Tennis Championships

Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime will challenge Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas for the Dubai title following their semifinal wins on Friday. Tsitsipas, the fourth seed and lone seeded player left in the draw, dispatched Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor 6-4, 6-4 without facing a break point. Griekspoor had upset top-seeded Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals.

Auger-Aliassime was pushed to three sets by French qualifier Quentin Halys but emerged with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 victory. The Canadian leads the ATP Tour with 16 match wins this season, including titles in Adelaide and Montpellier.

Abierto Mexicano Telcel (Acapulco, Mexico)

Eighth-seeded Tomas Machac (Czech Republic) reached his second career ATP Tour final by edging out Brandon Nakashima (U.S.) 6-4, 1-6, 6-4. The deciding set stayed on serve until the final game, when Machac converted his third match point. He previously finished runner-up in Geneva last year.

Machac awaits the winner between ninth-seeded Denis Shapovalov (Canada) and Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who were set to clash in the night’s other semifinal.
