Tomas Machac of the Czech Republic staged a comeback to defeat third-seeded Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-3 in a two-hour, 31-minute battle to reach the quarterfinals in Vienna, Austria. Machac will next face No. 7 seed Jack Draper of Great Britain, who defeated Luciano Darderi of Italy 7-5, 6-1. Russia’s Karen Khachanov rallied past Brandon Nakashima with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory, while Czech qualifier Jakub Mensik defeated Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 7-6 (7). No. 2 seed Alex de Minaur of Australia was up 7-6 (2), 3-1 when Italy’s Flavio Cobolli retired due to injury.
