The Dutchman served 13 aces and will meet top seed Daniil Medvedev, who posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory over France’s Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Medvedev, the 2023 Dubai champion, made his third straight quarterfinal here.
Felix Auger-Aliassime (Canada) outlasted Portugal’s Nuno Borges 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, while Croatia’s Marin Cilic topped Russia’s Alexei Popyrin 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. Italians Luca Nardi and Matteo Berrettini, as well as French qualifier Quentin Halys, also moved on. Nardi and Halys will face off, and Berrettini is set to battle No. 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas after the Greek outlasted Karen Khachanov 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-4.

Belgium’s David Goffin topped fifth-seeded Ben Shelton (U.S.) 7-6 (3), 6-3, and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (Spain) upset seventh-seeded Frances Tiafoe (U.S.) 6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-3. Eighth-seeded Tomas Machac (Czech Republic) and ninth-seeded Denis Shapovalov (Canada) won in straight sets.
