No. 1 seed Tallon Griekspoor overcame a tough challenge from Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta, needing over two hours to seal a 7-6 (1), 3-6, 6-3 win and advance to the quarterfinals in Morocco.
Griekspoor’s strong serving was key, tallying 13 aces while converting key break points in the final set.
In a major upset, No. 2 seed Lorenzo Sonego fell to the Czech Republic’s Vit Kopriva, who fought through in a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 win that lasted nearly three hours. Kopriva showed mental toughness, saving 6 of 10 break points to move on.
Elsewhere, Italians Luciano Darderi and Mattia Bellucci each reached the next round. Darderi rebounded to beat Hugo Gaston 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, while Bellucci took out French qualifier Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-2, 7-5.

Tiriac Open: Baez Finishes Strong, Wawrinka Exits
Sebastian Baez, the top seed in Bucharest, completed a rain-delayed match against Gabriel Diallo with a 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-2 victory. Baez overcame a rough second set and dominated the third to advance.
Pedro Martinez, the No. 2 seed, rallied from a set down to defeat Stan Wawrinka 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. Martinez stayed patient and converted 6 of 12 break-point chances in a gritty win.
In other results, Damir Dzumhur outlasted Romanian hopeful Filip Cristian Jianu 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Christopher O’Connell scored a significant upset, rallying past No. 4 Nicolas Jarry in a tense 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (5) match.
Marton Fucsovics also prevailed in a three-setter, beating No. 7 Mariano Navone 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship: Nakashima Rolls, Eubanks Advances
Brandon Nakashima cruised past fellow American Mackenzie McDonald 6-1, 7-5, winning over 80 percent of his service points. The No. 4 seed moves on to meet Christopher Eubanks, who advanced after Kei Nishikori retired mid-match due to injury.
