We’ll look to close out the regular season strong with our CFL Week 18 predictions. There are only four weeks before the CFL playoffs start. Five teams have already locked up a spot in the playoffs.
The Calgary Stampeders are on a bye this week, but the other eight teams are in action.

Elks vs. Argonauts Prediction
- When: Friday, October 6th 2023 at 7:00 PM ET
- Where: BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario
- Opening Spread: Argonauts -7 / Current Spread: Argonauts -7
- Opening Total: 47.5 Points / Current Total: 47.5 Points
The Toronto Argonauts (12-2 / 10-4 ATS) host the Edmonton Elks (5-10 / 7-7-1 ATS). Edmonton will be rested, as they’re coming off a bye week. QB Chad Kelly will start for the Argos this week.
Toronto lead the CFL in scoring (32.9 PPG), while the Elks rank last (20.6 PPG). Toronto rank second in points allowed (22.1 PPG) and Edmonton rank seventh in points allowed (26.8 PPG). The Elks rank last in passing yards (217.1 PYPG), but the Argonauts struggle stopping the pass (300.9 PYPG – 8th).
The Argos have a +18 turnover margin, while the Elks have a -10 turnover margin. In the lone H2H game this season, Toronto won on the road (43-31) and the game went over the total. That game was before QB Tre Ford took over in Edmonton. I’m betting on this game going over the game total on Friday.
Best Bet: Over 47.5 Points (-110)
Blue Bombers vs. Lions Prediction
- When: Friday, October 6th 2023 at 10:00 PM ET
- Where: BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia
- Opening Spread: Lions -2 / Current Spread: Lions -2
- Opening Total: 50.5 Points / Current Total: 50.5 Points
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (11-4 / 8-7 ATS) are coming off a win against the Argos. The BC Lions (11-4 / 8-6-1 ATS) have won four consecutive games. Both teams are locked into a playoff spot already.
These two teams are still fighting for first place in the West. Winnipeg are scoring 31.9 PPG (2nd) and allowing 20.9 PPG (1st). The Lions are scoring 28.0 PPG (3rd) and allowing 22.3 PPG (3rd). A big battle will be the Lions pass offense (316.1 PYPG – 1st) against the Bombers pass defense (224.7 PYPG – 1st).
Winnipeg have the best rushing attack (136.6 RYPG – 1st), but the Lions only allow 89.7 RYPG (3rd). In the two H2H games, these teams are 1-1 (1-1 ATS). The over/under is also split (1-1). BC dominated the first game (30-6) and Winnipeg dominated the second game (50-14).

Tiger-Cats vs. Roughriders Prediction
- When: Saturday, October 7th 2023 at 7:00 PM ET
- Where: Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan
- Opening Spread: Roughriders -4 / Current Spread: Roughriders -3.5
- Opening Total: 49 Points / Current Total: 49 Points
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (7-8 / 7-8 ATS) defeated Calgary last week to secure a spot in the playoffs. The Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-9 / 7-7-1 ATS) are still fighting for a spot in the CFL playoffs.
Both teams struggle to score points. Saskatchewan score 21.9 PPG (7th) and Hamilton score 21.3 PPG (8th). Hamilton have the edge on defense, as they allow 26.2 PPG (5th) and the Riders allow 30.5 PPG (9th). The Riders average 277.8 PYPG (3rd) and the Ti-Cats average 266.4 PYPG (4th) on offense.
I expect both teams will be able to air it out on Saturday. The H2H season series is split (1-1 / 1-1 ATS), with both teams winning at home and both games went under the game total. Redblacks vs. Alouettes Prediction
- When: Monday, October 9th 2023 at 1:00 PM ET
- Where: Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in Montreal, Quebec
- Opening Spread: Alouettes -6.5 / Current Spread: Alouettes -6.5
- Opening Total: 47.5 Points / Current Total: 47.5 Points
The Montreal Alouettes (8-7 / 8-7 ATS) have won two games in a row. The Ottawa Redblacks (4-11 / 5-10 ATS) lost to Montreal last week at home. Ottawa come into this game with a 1-6 (2-5 ATS) away record.
Ottawa have scored more points than Montreal (24.2 PPG – 4th vs. 23.7 PPG – 5th). The problem for the Redblacks has been defense. They allow 27.4 PPG (8th), while the Als allow 23.2 PPG (4th). Last week, the Redblacks lost three fumbles and threw two INTs, which isn’t a recipe for winning games.
Montreal are 3-0 (2-1) against Ottawa this season and two of three H2H games went under the total. Look for the Alouettes to have success running the football again this week. Dustin Crum threw for 247 yards in last week’s loss, but turnovers were a huge problem. If they can’t clean those up, they’ll stand no chance.

CFL Week 18 Predictions – Touchdown Scorers
I’m betting on RB Kevin Brown of the Elks to score an anytime touchdown this week. We’re getting plus money odds (+110) on this bet. Brown has five touchdowns this season. He played great in Weeks 14 and 15. He struggled in Week 16, but with a bye week, I like Brown to get back on track.
Best Bet: Kevin Brown to Score a Touchdown (+110)
CFL Week 18 Predictions – Player Props
For my best player prop, I’m targeting an under. I’m betting that Cody Fajardo will have under 270.5 pass yards against the Redblacks. Ottawa have been the worst team against the pass, but Fajardo has thrown for 261 yards (Week 1) and 178 yards (Week 17) against the Redblacks this season.
Best Bet: Cody Fajardo Under 270.5 Passing Yards (-115)
