Chargers in Trap Game with NY Jets – November 6

The NY Jets will host the Los Angeles Chargers tonight in Monday Night Football. The Jets, of course, had high expectations coming into the 2023 NFL season. They acquired QB Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay in the offseason and finally had a franchise quarterback to lead the offense. With a solid defense already in place, Rodgers was the missing piece in what was supposed to be a deep NY Jets playoff run.

Four plays into this season, the Jets’ dreams came crashing down. Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles tendon and backup Zack Wilson was back under center. Wilson, the NY Jets first pick in the 2021 draft, started 13 games as a rookie. He had some injury issues and was benched in 2022 at one point. That, of course, is why New York went out and acquired Rodgers.

Now, Wilson is back in command of the NY Jets offense and they have won three straight games. At 4-3, the Jets can take over control of second place in the AFC East with a win over the Chargers (3-4). With a win, the NY Jets would trail the Dolphins – who lost in their NFL Germany game yesterday – by just a half-game in the division race.

Chargers Favored Against the NY Jets

Despite the three-game win streak and the better record, the Jets are a 3-point home underdog tonight. The Chargers are 1-2 in their last three games. The only win came last week against the Chicago Bears and rookie QB Tyson Bagent. Los Angeles is one of those teams that is seemingly always one game away from a complete disaster.

What’s interesting to note are two things. One is that the Chargers had to travel to the NY Jets. West Coast teams traveling east have won just 40 percent of the time since 2003. The bigger thing is this. Teams that are underdogs in games with a total of 42 or lower are 25-10-2 ATS so far this season. Tonight’s total is set at 39.5. Big day for Ryan Davis

Here’s a look at yesterday’s big winners.

  • Another perfect day: Neal Harris, another of our experts, won all three of his picks yesterday and took home $300. Like Ryan, Neal showed his skills across different sports with an NFL pick, an NBA pick, and a soccer pick.
  • Back for more: Sports Central has been having a solid month (up $1134 for the last 30 days). Yesterday, Sports Central was third on the board, going 5-2 and adding $294 to their bankroll.
  • Sports Hub experts in top-10: Patrick Doyle (2-0), Tonny Ricci (3-1), Mario Deluca (3-1), and Al Grant (3-1) all finished in yesterday’s top-10. Patrick won $200 on both of his NFL picks. The other three guys all won $190. Take note of Mario’s recent performance. The guy is killing it. A Look at Trending Sports News

Every day, we provide you with a few nuggets of sports information that may help you at some point with your sports betting. Having quality information is one of the keys to success as a bettor. It’s football season, so there is plenty trending on the gridiron.

Let’s take a look.

  • Injuries: It’s something you hate to see, but it’s part of the game. New York Giants QB Daniel Jones may have torn an ACL in yesterday’s 30-7 loss to the Raiders. Jones had already missed games earlier this season with other injuries.
  • Stroud: It appears that C.J. Stroud has won the battle of the top two picks in the draft. Bryce Young is having a tough time in Carolina, but Stroud’s Texans are now 4-4 after beating Tampa Bay 39-37 yesterday. Stroud set a rookie record with 470 yards passing  and five touchdowns.
  • USC woes: The Trojans had high hopes for a successful 2023 season, but losses in three of their last four games have derailed USC’s dreams. The big problem for USC has been the defense, which ranks in the bottom 30 of most defensive statistical categories. Defensive coordinator Alex Grinch was fired on Sunday after the Trojans gave up 52 points to No. 5 Washington.
  • NBA injuries: C.J. McCollum has a collapsed right lung. This happened to McCollum two seasons ago and he ended up missing 18 games. Suns G Devin Booker missed four of the Suns first six games and didn’t play Sunday in a win over Detroit. Both Booker and newly acquired Bradley Beal are dealing with injury issues.
