The Washington Commanders will host the Chicago Bears in tonight’s Thursday Night Football matchup. The Commanders are 2-2 so far this season and are a 6-point favorite heading into tonight’s game. Washington will take on a Bears team that is, well, pretty bad. The Bears are 0-4 and blew a 28-7 second half lead last week only to lose to Denver. Regardless, Sports Hub’s expert sports handicappers have your best picks for tonight’s game.
Speaking of picks, in addition to NFL picks, our experts also offer college football picks. You can get ready for the weekend with a full breakdown of the best games, the best picks, and more by checking out our Week 6 NCAA football picks page. You can see it HERE. Sports Hub also offers computer picks, which have had great success in all sports. Our AI-generated picks are winning at nearly 60 percent over the past three-plus years. Will there be any computer picks for tonight’s Commanders game? Check the members’ area to find out.
Commanders Continue to Face Adversity
Speaking of those Commanders, the franchise has really been through the ringer. Founded in 1932 in Boston, the franchise moved to Washington, D.C. in 1937. In 1933, the team took the nickname the “Redskins.” In 2020, Washington dropped the nickname under pressure from certain interest groups. In 2022, the franchise officially changed the nickname to Commanders. It was an ode to the fight song “Hail to the Commanders” that is played after every Washington touchdown.
Daniel Snyder bought the Redskins franchise in 1999. He faced tons of media scrutiny for the workplace culture as well as the franchise’s name. Just this year, Snyder sold the team to an ownership group led by Josh Harris for $6.05 billion. Under Snyder, Washington went 164-220-2 and had a postseason record of 2-6. As mentioned, the Commanders are off to a 2-2 start in 2023.
The Commanders haven’t had a winning season since 2016 when they went 8-7-1. They made the postseason in 2020 after winning the NFC East with a 7-9 record. But, that’s the past and tonight, QB Sam Howell tries to continue what he started last week when the Commanders put up 31 points on Philadelphia. Sports Hub expert Bill Blatt looks to continue his NFL hot streak. Bill has a pick for tonight’s game in the system and you’ll want to see it. He is 17-9 (65.38%) on his NFL picks this season and has won $722 in the process.
