FC Cincinnati 1, Tigres UANL 1
FC Cincinnati settled for a 1-1 home draw against Tigres UANL on Tuesday night in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions Cup round-of-16 matchup.
Pavel Bucha got the hosts off to a flying start by finding the net in the third minute. After Cincinnati reclaimed possession deep in Tigres’ territory, a short sequence of passes allowed Bucha to unleash a right-footed shot from near the top of the box into the bottom right corner.
Tigres drew even in the 17th minute behind Nicolás Ibáñez. Sebastián Córdova ran down a pass near the end line on the left side and delivered a pinpoint cross to the far post, where Ibáñez nodded it home.
The two-game, total-goal series wraps up on March 11 in San Nicolás de los Garza, Mexico.

Los Angeles FC 3, Columbus Crew 0
Denis Bouanga’s pair of stellar goals powered LAFC to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Columbus in the opener of their Champions Cup round-of-16 tie. Nathan Ordaz tacked on a late tally as the hosts built a three-goal cushion ahead of the second leg on March 11 in Ohio.
Bouanga struck first in the 20th minute, dispossessing the Crew’s defense, then maneuvering around Patrick Schulte before slipping the ball into the open net. Shortly after halftime, he dribbled into the left side of the Crew’s 18-yard box and chipped a delicate shot over Schulte’s reach.
Ordaz put the exclamation point on LAFC’s night in the 81st, volleying home a corner kick from about 14 yards out.
