Monday Night Football, aka MNF, features the highly anticipated matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the new-look New York Jets. It will be the first game as a Jet for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He was acquired by the Jets in the offseason and he immediately transformed New York into a Super Bowl contender. The Jets started last season 7-4, but then had some quarterback issues. They went on to lose their last six straight games and finish 7-10.
Tonight on MNF, the Jets will play host to their AFC East rival, the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are also among the early Super Bowl contenders. They have an MVP candidate in quarterback Josh Allen. Tonight’s game also marks the return of Bills safety Damar Hamlin, though he may be inactive. He suffered a cardiac incident in a game last year on a Monday night against Cincinnati. He’s back and healthy but still may be held out of tonight’s game.

Speaking of our elite cappers, let’s take a look at how they did on football Sunday.
Sports Hub Cappers Kick Off NFL Season with Wins
There were 23 handicappers in the Sports Hub network that placed at least one NFL bet yesterday and didn’t lose. Evan Lewis hit all three of his NFL picks and Gino Russo went 2-0. Add in Gino’s win on Thursday night’s Lions-Chiefs game and he’s off to a 3-0 start this NFL season.
Overall yesterday, Mike Kelly topped the board winning $360 by going 8-4 with his picks. Tonny Ricci was back again and Pro Picks – James made the top-3 as well. The top 42 cappers on the leaderboard went home with a little extra in their bankroll. That’s a pretty solid day. We’ll see if they can translate that into some wins tonight on MNF.
Let’s check out yesterday’s leaderboard.
- Big Kahuna: As mentioned, Mike Kelly led the way yesterday hitting 8 of his 12 picks. Five of the wins were NFL picks. Check the members’ area to see if Mike has a MNF pick.
- I’m No. 2: Second on yesterday’s board was Pro Picks – James, who went 3-1 and pocketed $202. He went 1-1 on his NFL picks and hit both of MLB predictions. Yesterday’s success gives James total winnings of $557 over the last seven days.
- Back for more: Big Tonny Ricci was the man yesterday after he had a big day on Saturday. He followed that up with another stellar performance – did I mention Tonny is a Sports Hub expert? – yesterday. Tonny went 3-1 and totaled winnings of $192. Over the last 30 days, Tonny is up $1352. He’s our No. 6 MLB capper and he already has a pick for tonight’s Yankees-Red Sox clash in the system.
- MNF picks: There are a dozen or so MNF picks in the system already with plenty more to come. With football season – both college and pro – only about two weeks old, I thought you might like to know this. Sports Hub’s Computer Picks are 43-32 (57.33%). You would be up $780 if you bet $100 on all of those games. Ben Miller is 11-6 (64.71%) with winnings of $442 and Gino Russo is 6-1 (85.71%) for $505. Both of those guys are Sports Hub exclusive handicappers. You may want to check Sports Hub today to see if they have any picks for MNF available.
If Your Name Is Tucker, You’re Trending
There’s a bunch of Tuckers in the news. One of them is doing great things in MLB. The other…not so much. It’s always good to take a look at sports news if you want to have more success when you place your bets. At Sports Hub, we cater to the savvy bettor who realizes that knowledge is power. Stay abreast of the latest trending news and you’ll find yourself a couple of extra wins that you otherwise would not have had. It pays to be a winner. It pays to be a member of Sports Hub.
Here’s today’s trending news.
- Tucker: How about Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker getting himself into a pickle? Tucker is now suspended after some pretty nasty allegations. He might want to get into a Full Tuck and ride on out of East Lansing. After Pat Fitzgerald got canned at Northwestern, Tucker makes him look like an angel. More to come.
- Tucker II: Then, there’s the Astros Kyle Tucker. He more than made up for the Tucker name with his performance in yesterday’s win over the San Diego Padres. In the sixth inning of a 12-2 win, Tucker hit two triples. He is only the second player in the expansion era (since 1961) to achieve the feat. The other was Cory Sullivan who did it for Colorado back in 2006. Ironically, his first triple was off of Padres P Tim Hill. The second came later in the inning off of Rich Hill.
Kyle Tucker triples this season:

- Braves clinch: For the sixth straight season, the Atlanta Braves will head to the MLB postseason. The Braves have the best record in baseball, lead MLB in home runs, and they have the fifth-best team ERA.
- Bengals, Chiefs, Seahawks: These three NFL teams are trending for all the wrong reasons. All three teams lost their 2023 season opener. KC lost by one on Thursday night, but the Bengals and Seahawks got smoked by Cleveland and the LA Rams, respectively. Should any of these three panic just yet?
- How ‘bout them Cowboys!: Let’s hope MNF is a bit more entertaining than SNF. Sunday Night Football was awesome if you are a Dallas Cowboys fan. Dallas jumped all over the New York Giants and ended up with a 40-0 win. That’s how you start a season.
MNF Tops the Monday Sports Schedule
There’s really no question that MNF is the main course on today’s sports schedule. Sure, there’s a full slate of MLB games today and some soccer being played around the world, but all eyes are on one thing – Monday Night Football. It culminates the first full week of the NFL season and it sets the course for the 2023 regular season. It’s not a huge schedule, but it’s enough for Sports Hub and all of our fans.
Let’s take a look.
- MNF: It’s the first MNF game of the season tonight. All eyes will be on the New York Jets offense and its new quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. Don’t forget Bills QB Josh Allen, though. He looked like the league MVP last year until the whole Damar Hamlin incident.

- MLB: Monday is typically a day where some MLB teams get a day off. Not this Monday. All 30 MLB teams will play as the 2023 season nears its end. Atlanta (93-49) became the first team to clinch a playoff berth. Teams like the Dodgers and Orioles are close to doing the same. The O’s host the Cardinals and the Dodgers are at home against the Padres tonight.
- Soccer all over: A number of international professional soccer leagues have a handful of matches today. In total, it makes for a pretty large soccer schedule. There are a few international friendlies and many of the South American leagues have a couple matches today.
- WWE: If you want a changeup, there’s some professional wrestling action tonight. WWE Raw will take place tonight at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. I’m thinking most of us true sports fans are probably watching MNF tonight. But, just in case…
That’s it. It’s actually a pretty slow Monday. But, it is a MNF Monday and that makes all the difference. It’s the Bills and Jets tonight. If you haven’t checked already, visit the members’ area and check out all of our handicappers’ picks for tonight’s game. Sports Hub cappers like Ben Miller and Robert Ferguson won 60 percent-plus of their bets over the past 14 days. It’s worth a look to see what some of our guys are doing tonight. Enjoy the game and come back tomorrow to see how all of our handicappers did today.
