Dolphins Eager to Prove Themselves in Primetime – Oct 22

The Miami Dolphins are one of five NFL teams with a 5-1 record. Tonight, they head to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles, last year’s NFC champion, are one of those five teams. Could tonight’s Sunday Night Football clash be a preview of Super Bowl LVIII? It’s certainly possible. In the latest NFL power rankings, the Dolphins checked in at No. 3 behind San Francisco and Kansas City. The Eagles were fourth.

Tonight’s game culminates a day full of great matchups. The Detroit Lions, another 5-1 team, travel to Baltimore (4-2) in a tough test for head coach Dan Campbell’s team. Six teams have byes this week, including the only winless team in the NFL – Carolina. After tonight’s Dolphins game, Week 7 of the season ends tomorrow night with Monday Night Football. We’ll have a breakdown of tomorrow night’s game between San Francisco and Minnesota. Be sure to check Sports Hub tomorrow.

Betting Sunday Night Football

The Dolphins have played a Sunday night game already this season. Back in Week 2, the Dolphins beat the Patriots 24-17. The Dolphins were 2-point favorites and covered the spread. As is the case with most primetime games, the final score went Under the total. So far in 2023, there have been six Sunday night games. The Under is 4-2 so far. Tonight’s total is 51.5, which is reflective of both offenses’ explosiveness.

Primetime games are notorious for hitting the Under. Teams are playing on national TV and, typically, these games are matchups of pretty good teams. Coaches tend to feel the other team out early on, so primetime games usually start slowly. As a result, over the last five seasons, the Under is 130-84-4. That’s a winning percentage of over 60 percent (60.7%). There are a handful of picks on tonight’s game total in our database. Visit the members’ area to check them out.

Sports Hub Cappers Making Money

It was a huge day in college football, but also a big day in the world of mixed martial arts. Our very own MMA Prime – Sports Hub was perfect yesterday on a number of matches at UFC 294. Our own experts, Bill Blatt and Evan Lewis, tore up the college football picks and wound up in yesterday’s top three.

Let’s see how our SportsHub handicappers did yesterday.

  • Fight Night: MMA Prime – Sport Hub nailed all of his picks last night at UFC 294 to go home with $543. This is nothing new for this capper. If you check out our searchable leaderboard, you will find that MMA Prime is 12-1 with MMA picks over the last 30 days. He’s also 20-4 over the last 60 days and 41-11 over the last 90 days. When there is a UFC event on a Saturday, do yourself a favor and check if MMA Prime has any picks available.

  • College football expert: Evan Lewis has been proving why he’s one of our leading experts here at Sports Hub. Yesterday, he nailed all four of his CFB picks to win $400. Over the last four days, Evan is 7-2. He’s only missed on one of his last ten NCAAF picks.
  • Another CFB expert: If you would have followed Bill Blatt’s picks yesterday, you would have been perfect and won $400. Bill is also one of our top NFL experts. Over the past 30 days, Bill has won 62.5 percent of his NFL picks and is up over $500. It would be worth checking to see if he has a pick for tonight’s Dolphins game.
  • Do you like Free Picks?: Who doesn’t love free picks? I thought I would mention our Sports Hub Free Picks and our Computer Picks, which you can also get for free with a SportsHub membership. If you look at my various leaderboards, you’ll find our Free Picks are actually No. 1 over the last 14 days with $687 in winnings. Free Picks also tops our 7-day MLB leaderboard. Our Computer Picks are No. 1 on the 7-day NBA leaderboard. The NBA season begins this coming Tuesday.

Week 8 CFB Doesn’t Disappoint, More Dingers in NLCS

There were four college football games in Week 8 that featured ranked opponents. The higher-ranked team won all four of those. A top ten team was upset by an unranked opponent and a couple so-called powers struggled to grab victories. It was a week that certainly did not disappoint fans.

Game 5 of the NLCS was last night and it didn’t disappoint either…especially if you’re a Philadelphia Phillies fan. Baseball takes a night off so Philadelphia can host the Dolphins on Sunday night football.

Let’s check out what’s trending.

  • Higher ranked teams win: No. 3 Ohio State shut down No. 7 Penn State’s offense in a 20-12 win. No. 11 Alabama made up for last year’s loss to No. 17 Tennessee. Fourth-ranked Florida State came back from an early deficit to beat No. 16 Duke 38-20. No. 14 Utah gave No. 18 USC its second straight loss in dramatic fashion, hitting a last-second field goal for a 34-32 win.
  • Phillies unleash Dinger Derby again: Philadelphia moved to within one game of a return trip to the World Series by beating Arizona 6-1 last night. Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, and J.T. Realmuto each hit homers to give the Phillies a 3-2 series lead. The NLCS returns to Philadelphia on Monday night.

  • Dolphins offense: Miami has scored 31 or more points in all but one of its games this season. The Dolphins average 37.2 points per game, by far tops in the NFL.
  • Can it get any worse?: So, first it was the whole Mel Tucker harassment thing. Tucker gets fired and the Spartans start taking a dive. MSU is now 2-5 with five straight losses, including last night’s 49-0 shellacking by in-state rival Michigan. To top it off, fans were treated to an image of Adolf Hitler on the big screen during the game last night.
  • Heisman House: Remember when USC QB Caleb Williams won the Heisman? Yeah, he was the favorite to win a second but then he threw three picks in a loss to Notre Dame. Williams didn’t throw any picks last night, but he didn’t throw a TD either as USC lost again. Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. slid right into that Heisman favorite role when Williams stumbled, but then Penix tossed two picks as the Huskies struggled to beat 1-6 Arizona State 15-7 last night.

  1. Rangers on the brink: The ALCS is back in Houston after the Astros won three straight at Globe Life Field in Arlington. Nathan Eovaldi pitches for the Rangers. Houston will start Framber Valdez.
  2. Quiet Sunday in the NHL: After a loaded Saturday schedule, most NHL teams are off the ice today. There are two games on the schedule. Calgary is at Detroit and Boston is at Anaheim.
  3. They won’t be watching the Red Wings in Detroit: No, the crowd at Little Caesar’s Arena will pale in comparison to the number of people watching the city’s Lions play the Baltimore Ravens today. It’s the best matchup in all of the 1:00 p.m. games. There are already a dozen picks for the game in our database.
  4. 4:00 p.m. NFL games: There are four late afternoon NFL games as we get prepared for the Dolphins on Sunday Night Football. The Chargers are at Kansas City in what could be a doozy. That game has even more picks in our database than the Lions game.
  1. Sunday Night Football: You can end your day watching the Dolphins offense get creative as they face the Eagles. Philly is 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS in its last five Sunday night games. The Dolphins are averaging 37.2 points per game to lead the NFL. Check the members’ area throughout the day. There are sure to be at least a few dozen picks for the Dolphins game.
  2. World soccer: The top professional soccer leagues in the world all have matches today. Fans and bettors can check our database to find the best soccer picks on matches in the English Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, French Ligue 1, and many more.
  3. Men’s tennis: Ben Shelton did win the Japan Open, so that one is complete. The European Open final is today between Alexander Bublik and Arthur Fils. The Nordic Open final is also today. Pavel Kotov will face Gael Monfils.
  4. Women’s tennis: The Transylvania Open is today. Tamara Korpatsch will take on Elena-Gabriela Ruse. Jasmine Paolini will play Elise Mertens for the 2023 Jasmin Open Monastir in Tunisia.
