Euro Soccer Top Leagues – Ligue 1 Matchday 19 Picks

A packed schedule of European soccer is on the horizon this weekend and we have a number of Ligue 1 Matchday 19 picks locked and loaded for you!

Four of the top-five major Euro soccer leagues are in action this weekend, with games taking place across the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Serie A and La Liga. The English Premier League is taking a short break as 4th Round FA Cup action is on display.

Euro Soccer Top Leagues – Recap 

Premier League 

The normal Premier League schedule will return next weekend. The English top-flight has been on a slight winter break of late, and teams will compete in the FA Cup this time around. 

Liverpool continue to sit top of the table, leading by five points over champions Manchester City. However, the Cityzens have a game in hand. Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton Town continue to make up the relegation places. 

Ligue 1

We have seen very little action from Ligue 1 of late as they were on winter break. Teams in France also competed in the Coupe de France last weekend, so there hasn’t been much league play recently. Games return this weekend, though, and we are focusing on Ligue 1 Matchday 19 picks!

La Liga 

Spanish football had a full list of games on the schedule last weekend. All of the top sides won as Atletico Madrid, Girona, Real Madrid and Barcelona all picked up the three points. 

The bottom-three in Almeria, Granada and Cadiz continued in their trends for the season as they all suffered defeats. Heavyweights Sevilla are in danger of being relegated this term and are just one point ahead of Cadiz in 18th. 

Bundesliga

Bayer Leverkusen look poised to end Bayern Munich’s 11-year dominance of winning the Bundesliga this term, and have opened up a four-point gap at the top. Darmstadt, FC Köln and Mainz all remain in the drop zone. 

Serie A 

Juventus took charge last weekend as they recorded a resounding 3-0 win away to Lecce, capitalizing on Inter playing in the Supercoppa Italiana. They now lead the way in Serie A by a point, but Inter have a game in hand. Strugglers Salernitana and Verona both lost again during the last round, whilst Empoli picked up a crucial 3-0 win at home to Monza.

This week’s feature Euro soccer bets focus on Ligue 1 Matchday 19 picks. I have made two selections from France, with both wagers showing strong value. 

Picks from the French top-flight have been incredibly profitable this season so the hope is that that trend can continue again this time around. 

I’ve got a further four bets for you later on as well. One comes from the Bundesliga, whilst there are three in Serie A. Make sure that you check those out below. First, let’s take a look at Ligue 1 Matchday 19 picks. 

Ligue 1 Matchday 19 Picks – Montpellier vs Lille Prediction 

Mid-table Montpellier return to their own turf at Stade de la Mosson this Sunday as they take on Paulo Fonseca’s Lille. Take a look at the current moneyline prices for the first of my Ligue 1 Matchday 19 picks below:

• Draw (257)
• Lille (+100)

La Paillade will be glad to return to their home in Occitania this weekend after playing three away games in a row. Montpellier managed to pick up two wins over that period, but both were in the Coupe de France. They suffered a 2-0 defeat on the road to Brest in their last league match, and have just one victory over their past five in Ligue 1. 

Lille are searching to break into the top-four this season, and are currently just two points behind Monaco in fourth. Les Dogues have won their last three-straight competitive games, losing just one of their last five in the league as well. 

Both teams have been low-scoring this term. Lille have the third-lowest over 2.5 goals ratio in the division, whilst Montpellier have scored the joint-fifth lowest number of goals in Ligue 1 (19). As a result, I’m backing the under in this match.

Ligue 1 Matchday 19 Picks – Nice vs Metz Prediction

With the return of French top-flight football this weekend, the next one of my Ligue 1 Matchday 19 picks features Nice vs Metz which gets underway on Saturday at Allianz Riviera. Below you can find the most recent moneyline prices for the match:

• Metz (+740)

The hosts got off to a flier to begin the season, and led the way in Ligue 1 for some time. However, it wasn’t long before champions Paris Saint-Germain responded, and Nice have also dropped off of late. Francesco Farioli’s men have lost three of their last five in the league, having opened the campaign going 13 games unbeaten. They lost 2-0 away to Rennes last time out as well. 

Metz are on the precipice of the drop zone, and are level on points with 16th-place Lyon. They have been poor offensively this season, scoring the joint-second lowest goals in the division (16). The club also head into the game on the back of five successive defeats in Ligue 1.

Alternative Euro Soccer Top League Picks 

Having now secured my Ligue 1 Matchday 19 picks, I am now ready to share with you the rest of my European soccer wagers this weekend. 

There’s a selection in the German top-flight that I have identified. The research is showing that we could be in for a good chance of a winner. 

There are a couple of games from Serie A that I am liking the look of too. The odds for the Lazio vs Napoli match are showing some good value. 

Bundesliga Matchday 19 Picks – Bayer Leverkusen vs Borussia Mönchengladbach Prediction

My alternative Euro soccer picks kick off with league leaders Bayer Leverkusen welcoming Borussia Mönchengladbach to BayArena. You can view the latest moneyline odds for the encounter here:

• Draw (+520)
• Mönchengladbach (+820)

Leverkusen have been simply magnificent so far this season, and remain unbeaten through 18 games, picking up 48 points out of a possible 54. They extended their lead atop the Bundesliga after coming from behind to defeat RB Leipzig 3-2 on the road last time out. Champions Bayern Munich also recently suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Werder Bremen, aiding the cause of Xabi Alonso’s swashbuckling Die Werkself. 

The away side have been very inconsistent throughout the campaign, and have won just one of their last five Bundesliga outings. They lost 2-1 at home to Augsburg last weekend, and have lost their last three in a row on their travels, conceding nine in the process. 

It looks as though Leverkusen will win again here, but the moneyline odds of -357 are too short. However, I have found a bet from the goals market that I like.

Serie A Matchday 22 Picks – Lazio vs Napoli Prediction 

The top-two sides in Serie A last season meet at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday as Lazio play host to champions Napoli. Check out the latest moneyline odds for the game here:

• Napoli (+237)

The Biancocelesti have managed to recover following a difficult start to the 2023/24 season. They have now won four successive games in Serie A, and are on the cusp of a place in the top-four. Despite losing 3-0 against Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana last time out, Lazio managed to secure a 1-0 home win over Lecce in their most recent league outing. 

After winning the Scudetto last term under head coach Luciano Spalletti, the Partenopei have struggled this season. Rudi Garcia was relieved of his duties back in November, but things haven’t improved much under new boss Walter Mazzarri. If anything, they’ve regressed. 

Prospects don’t look great for Napoli in this road matchup as they have lost their last four-straight away games, failing to score a single goal over their last three.

Serie A Matchday 22 Picks – Atalanta vs Udinese Prediction

Carrying on with Serie A picks for the weekend, next up we take a look at Atalanta vs Udinese which takes place at Gewiss Stadium on Saturday. Here’s the current moneyline odds for the encounter:

Having scored the joint-third most goals in Serie A this term, Atalanta will be hoping to utilize their offensive prowess when they square off against 16th-place Udinese. La Dea demonstrated just how good they can be going forward last time out as well, putting five past Frosinone. That victory means they are unbeaten across their last five competitive games. 

Meanwhile, the visitors have been poor this season, and have just two wins on the year (joint-lowest in the league). They have just one league win over their past ten, too, and suffered a 3-2 loss at home to Milan in their last match.
