Who’s ready for F1 2024!?

The new Formula 1 season is set to get underway in Bahrain on March 2. Having dominated the previous campaign, Max Verstappen will be the driver to beat in 2024, but can anyone stop the Red Bull superstar from winning a fourth consecutive championship?

Our guide to F1

2024 covers all the bases, from the driver line-up and schedule to new races and key changes. So, buckle up, strap yourself in and let’s get this show on the road!

What Are the Major Changes for F1 2024?

The only change to the driver line-up is the permanent addition of Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian replaced Nyck de Vries midway through the 2023 season, and the former AlphaTauri team will continue with the same line-up.

AlphaTauri is set to be rebranded but will continue to use a Honda power unit. It is also worth noting that Alfa Romeo has ended its partnership with Sauber, with a new constructor set to race with a Ferrari power unit in F1 2024.

The 2024 calendar comprises a record 24 races, meaning Formula 1 fans will have two more races to enjoy. The Chinese Grand Prix and Emilia Romagna Grand Prix are back on the schedule, while the Russian Grand Prix remains absent.

F1 2024 Driver Line-Up

As we already mentioned, there is only one change to the driver line-up for F1 2024. Ricciardo will continue alongside Yuki Tsunoda at the new AlphaTauri team, while Verstappen will remain at Red Bull after dominating 2023.

F1 2024 DRIVER LINE-UP
Constructor Drivers
Red Bull Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez
Mercedes Lewis Hamilton, George Russell
Ferrari Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz
McLaren Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri
Aston Martin Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll
Alpine Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon
Haas Kevin Magnussen, Nico Hulkenberg
Williams Logan Sargeant, Alex Albon
AlphaTauri Daniel Ricciardo, Yuki Tsunoda
Sauber Zhou Guanyu, Valtteri Bottas

Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren will all be hoping to close the gap on Red Bull in 2024. Red Bull finished a whopping 451 points clear of Mercedes in last season’s World Constructors’ Championship standings, highlighting a clear gulf in quality.

Following an impressive debut season at McLaren, Oscar Piastri will return to partner Lando Norris. Logan Sargeant is also preparing for his second season in Formula 1, having debuted alongside Alex Albon at Williams in 2023.

F1 2024 Outright Odds

This F1 2024 preview would not be complete without a look at the bookies’ odds for next season. If you already know a thing or two about F1, you won’t be surprised that Verstappen is the clear favorite to triumph in 2024.

2024 FORMULA 1 ODDS

  • Max Verstappen (-350)
  • Lando Norris (+700)
  • Lewis Hamilton (+1200)
  • Oscar Piastri (+1800)
  • George Russell (+2000)
  • Charles Leclerc (+2500)
  • Sergio Perez (+2500)
  • Fernando Alonso (+3300)
  • Carlos Sainz (+4000)
  • Daniel Ricciardo (+10000)
  • Alex Albon (+25000)
  • Lance Stroll (+25000)
  • Esteban Ocon (+40000)
  • Pierre Gasly (+40000)
  • Yuki Tsunoda (+40000)
  • Zhou Guanyu (+100000)
  • Kevin Magnussen (+100000)
  • Nico Hulkenberg (+100000)
  • Valtteri Bottas (+100000)

After winning 19 of the 22 races last season, Verstappen is the out-and-out favorite to clinch a fourth successive title in 2024. Interestingly, Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez, is the bookies’ seventh favorite.

Having enjoyed a strong end to the previous campaign, McLaren’s Lando Norris is expected to be Verstappen’s closest challenger, while Oscar Piastri also finds himself in the top four.

Lewis Hamilton racked up six titles in seven years between 2014 and 2020, but the Mercedes man failed to win a single race in 2023. Hamilton is the bookies’ third favorite to triumph in 2024, but he will have to up his game.

Looking Ahead to the 2024 F1 Season

The 2024 Formula 1 season is set to be a thriller. With more races, more sprints and a couple of team changes in the offing, fans and bettors have every right to be excited about the road ahead.

Verstappen smashed countless records on his way to achieving a third straight championship in 2023, leaving every other driver in the dust. Hopefully, the new changes will make the upcoming campaign more competitive.
