Georgia football has won two consecutive College Football Playoff national championships. The Bulldogs continue to be ranked No. 1 in the latest AP Top 25. Georgia was the preseason favorite to win a third consecutive national title, something that has not been in the modern era of college football. Today, Georgia football will play host to yet another SEC program looking to knock off the nation’s best – Kentucky. The Wildcats are 5-0 and are coming off a 33-14 win over then-22nd-ranked Florida.

It’s just another Saturday in the SEC. Georgia football is just one of many of the nation’s premier programs. Here at Sports Hub, we provide detailed breakdowns of college football’s best games each week. You can find game analysis as well as the best picks each and every week right HERE. We’re here to provide you with the best content and picks in all sports. SportsHub has everything from the best hockey predictions to the top NFL picks and more.
Georgia Football Tops SEC
Alabama was the premier football program in the SEC for a number of years. Then, Georgia football took over the prime spot. Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart was Alabama’s defensive coordinator for a number of years before he got the Georgia football job. Today, Smart and his Bulldogs face Kentucky, another solid SEC program. Head coach Mark Stoops has done a great job with two 10-win seasons among the past six years.
In addition to Alabama, LSU (#23) and Ole Miss (#16) from the SEC West Division are ranked in the AP Top 25. Georgia football, of course, is ranked No. 1 and three other SEC East programs are also among the top 25. Kentucky is ranked No. 20, Missouri is No. 21, and Tennessee is ranked No. 22. By season’s end, there are a few other SEC programs that could reach the top 25. That’s why it is college football’s premier conference.

Trades, Playoffs, and Georgia Football
A couple of NFL trades took place before the weekend, a weekend that features the start of the AL and NL divisional series. Georgia football is still ranked No. 1 in the nation and needs a strong performance against Kentucky today to keep that spot. That is especially true if No. 3 Texas beats rival Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry.
It’s another beautiful Saturday for Georgia football. The Bulldogs have now won 22 games in a row. That is a school record and they can extend it today. Georgia football has won 13 in a row against Kentucky. The Bulldogs own a 62-12-2 record over the Wildcats.
Let’s see what else is trending.
- NFL trades: The Denver Broncos were going to release veteran DE Randy Gregory but worked out a last-minute deal to trade him to the San Francisco 49ers. Denver will get a 2024 sixth-round draft pick in exchange.
- More NFL trades: WR Chase Claypool has been traded by the Chicago Bears to the Miami Dolphins. Miami also gets a seventh-round draft pick in 2025 in exchange for a sixth-round 2025 pick. The Dolphins had placed two receivers on injured reserve last week. Claypool will provide some much-needed depth.
- MLB postseason: All four divisional series Game 1s will take place today. Texas and Baltimore kick it all off in the ALDS followed by Minnesota at Houston. The night games are Philadelphia at Atlanta and Arizona at the Los Angeles Dodgers. There are more than a dozen MLB playoff picks available from Sports Hub handicappers right now.
- Georgia football: Another college football Saturday. Another opportunity for Georgia football to extend its winning streak. If you haven’t already figured it out, the Bulldogs are playing at home against Kentucky.
- Red River War: It’s the 119th version of the Oklahoma-Texas rivalry. The Longhorns are currently ranked No. 3. Oklahoma, which is also 5-0, is ranked No. 12. Texas won handily last year 49-0. It was the Longhorns first win in the series in five years.
