Las Vegas Hosts Monday Night Football – October 9

Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps. It will be wide awake all day today as the Green Bay Packers visit Sin City for tonight’s Monday night football game. The Raiders are 1-3 and have lost three straight since winning their season opener 17-16 over AFC West rival Denver. Despite the recent struggles, Las Vegas is still a two-point favorite heading into tonight.

Green Bay is 2-2 after a brutal loss to a rival of their own, the Detroit Lions. The Packers fell behind 27-3 at the half and a couple of late scores made the 34-20 final score look much better than it really was. One good thing was the Packers played on Thursday night last week, which gives them the benefit of some added rest. Just like with our Sunday predictions, that rest will surely factor into our Sports Hub expert picks for tonight’s game in Las Vegas.

Sports Betting Is Bigger in Las Vegas

With the rise of sports betting in the U.S., it was thought that Las Vegas might suffer. Las Vegas, of course, was for many years the only place where bettors could place a legal bet on an NFL game. That all changed in 2018 and now 30-plus states have some form of legal sports betting. Las Vegas is still a betting hot spot. Since sports betting was legalized in other states, Las Vegas has revenue of nearly $2 billion.

What Happens in Las Vegas Stays In Las Vegas

Whether it’s Las Vegas or offshore, our handicappers and bettors have plenty of choices. Because of the rise of sports betting, there are more sportsbooks than ever. Bettors should use that to their advantage. One of the easiest ways to get more wins is to shop around for the best lines and prices on your bets. Ask any of our Sports Hub experts. They will tell you the same thing. Shopping for the best lines is how some of our cappers may have ended up at the top of our leaderboard yesterday. Speaking of…

Sports Hub Handicappers Take Over Leaderboard

It was a unique leaderboard yesterday. I say unique because for the first time in a long time we didn’t have any unbeaten winners at the top. However, as is typical of our Sports Hub handicappers, we definitely had some winners.

The top-6 cappers all had at least one loss but all won at least $200. Four of the six were our very own Sports Hub experts. Rounding out the top-10 were a couple more Sports Hub exclusive cappers, including two that did go unbeaten.

Let’s take a look at how yesterday’s leaderboard played out.

SH Experts on Top Again
  • Big weekend for Willie T: On Saturday, William Taylor went 4-1 on his college football picks and won $276. Yesterday, he did it again. He went 4-1 – all on NFL picks – and won $290. That gives William a two-day record of 8-2 and winnings of $566. Not a bad weekend!
  • The Bookie is back: The Bookie (gotta love that name!) has been among our elite cappers before. Yesterday, he equaled William Taylor with a 4-1 day and $290 in winnings. He now has a three-day total of $440.
  • Linesman turned capper: Nick Sabatini has been in the sports betting industry for over 30 years. His experience is paying off in his latest endeavor – Sports Hub handicapper. Yesterday, Nick attacked the NFL and MLB with 11 total picks. He went a respectable 7-4 and came home with $260. Nick has a pick in the system for tonight’s Las Vegas game.
  • Live betting machine: Mike Kelly is one of the more consistent handicappers here at SportsHub. He’s also one of the best at NFL live betting. Yesterday, Mike put 14 picks in the system, five of which were live NFL bets. Mike went 9-5 overall and 4-1 with those live bets. He wound up with an extra $235 in his bankroll. That pushes his 30-day winnings to $1328.
  • Jimmy Liu and Dan Jones: These two Sports Hub experts both went 3-1 yesterday. Jimmy had the underdog Twins on the moneyline and ended up with $208. Dan won on three NFL bets at -110 but lost an international soccer bet to clear $200.
  • Unbeaten Sports Hub experts: I mentioned a couple SportsHub guys that were perfect yesterday. Logan Wilson and James Anderson each went 2-0 and won $200. Both have been doing well – as Sports Hub experts tend to do – over the past 30 days. James has winnings of $1114 while Logan is up $1072.

Let’s See What’s Trending

Keeping up with the latest trending sports news is something that our Sports Hub experts recommend. You never know when one small piece of information will make the difference in one of your bets. Today, there is plenty of trending sports news. I’ve whittled it down into some key nuggets for you.

Here’s what’s trending today.

  • Dirty Dak: Dallas QB Dak Prescott threw interceptions on three consecutive drives last night as the Cowboys were blown out 42-10 by the San Francisco 49ers. Prescott was just 14-of-24 for 153 yards last night. In addition to the three picks, he was sacked three times.
  • Rangers: There was a point late in the regular season when it looked like the Texas Rangers might fade away. Now, they’re up 2-0 in their ALDS against Baltimore. With an 11-8 win yesterday, Texas gets a day off and then Nathan Eovaldi (12-5, 3.63) takes the mound tomorrow night.
  • Mr. Touchdown: George Kittle caught three touchdown passes from 49ers QB Brock Purdy. Kittle ended the night with three catches for 67 yards. That’s a pretty productive night.
  • Patriots: The New England Patriots are trending for all the wrong reasons. They got pounded 34-0 by the New Orleans Saints yesterday. QB Mac Jones got benched for a second consecutive week. The Patriots have now lost their last two games by a combined 72-3. Ouch!
  • Las Vegas: Vegas is always trending. It’s a great city. There’s plenty to do. Tonight, if you’re in Las Vegas, you can head to Allegiant Stadium where the Raiders host the Packers. If you’re watching from home, visit SportsHub before you place a bet. You can read our Monday night football content and visit our members’ area for all the best picks for tonight’s game.

Las Vegas vs. Green Bay Heads Up Today’s Schedule

It’s a Monday in October. The biggest thing on the sports schedule, of course, is Monday Night Football. But wait, there’s more! Since it’s Monday in October, that means there is also playoff baseball. The National League gets it on tonight in Game 2 action. The underdog Phillies and Diamondbacks both won the opening games of their series.

Let’s see what else is on tap for today.

  1. Monday night football: Green Bay plays at Las Vegas tonight. The Raiders are currently a two-point favorite. Las Vegas head coach Josh McDaniels is among the leading candidates in the First NFL Coach Fired betting market.
  1. Game 2 in NLDS: The Braves will try and right the ship after losing Game 1 of their series with Philadelphia. Max Fried (8-1, 2.55) starts for Atlanta against Zack Wheeler (13-6, 3.61) of the Phillies. The other game features Cy Young contender Zac Gallen (17-9, 3.47) of Arizona going up against the Dodgers Bobby Miller (11-4, 3.76).
  2. Slow soccer day: There are not many soccer matches today. The biggest thing on the soccer schedule is the Argentine Primera B which has seven matches being played today.
  3. Thanksgiving: No, it’s not Thanksgiving in the U.S., but it is Thanksgiving in Canada. Today is a national holiday in the Great White North and along with that holiday is some CFL football. The Montreal Alouettes host the Ottawa RedBlacks and Montreal can get a little closer to a home playoff game with a win.
  4. NBA preseason: In case you didn’t know, the NBA has begun its preseason. There are three games on the schedule.
  5. Tennis: Men’s tennis continues with the Rolex Shanghai Masters. No. 2 seed Daniil Medvedev was upset and is out of the tournament. On the women’s side, the Prudential Hong Kong Open, Hana Bank Korea Open, Zhengzhou Open, and Open de Rouen Capfinances are all underway.

Even with just one NFL game in Las Vegas, this is an outstanding Monday schedule. Be sure to check the Sports Hub members’ area for picks for tonight Green Bay at Las Vegas game.
