Major League Soccer – Week 30 MLS Picks

Are you looking for the best Week 30 MLS picks? Look no further! Lucky for you, we have already scoured the bookie’s odds to find the best Major League Soccer bets for this weekend.

Week 30 gets underway on Saturday, September 2, with the Vancouver Whitecaps traveling to the Big Apple to take on New York City FC. Following the opening clash, we have no fewer than 13 matchups to enjoy.

Before we get stuck into my Week 30 MLS picks and predictions, let’s look back at what happened in Week 29 and check out the latest MLS odds for the upcoming fixtures.

What Happened in Week 29?

Major League Soccer fans were treated to a stacked 13-game slate on Wednesday, meaning 26 of the league’s 29 teams were in midweek action. If you’re looking for Wednesday’s MLS results, you have certainly come to the right place.

WEEK 29 MLS RESULTS

  • New England Revolution 1-0 New York Red Bulls
  • Toronto FC 3-1 Philadelphia Union
  • Atlanta United 1-2 FC Cincinnati
  • New York City FC 2-0 CF Montreal
  • Inter Miami 0-0 Nashville SC
  • Charlotte FC 1-1 Orlando City
  • Minnesota United 3-0 Colorado Rapids
  • Chicago Fire 0-1 Vancouver Whitecaps
  • Houston Dynamo 2-0 Columbus Crew
  • St. Louis City 2-1 FC Dallas
  • Austin FC 1-2 Seattle Sounders
  • San Jose Earthquakes 2-3 LA Galaxy
  • Portland Timbers 2-1 Real Salt Lake

Seven teams tasted victory on home soil last time out, while four teams triumphed on the road. FC Cincinnati, Vancouver, Seattle Sounders and LA Galaxy secured away wins on Wednesday, with Cincy extending its lead atop the Eastern Conference.

Elsewhere, Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami played out a goalless draw with Nashville SC. After bagging 11 goals and three assists in his first nine appearances for the Herons, Messi was finally kept quiet by Nashville.

In terms of betting trends, seven of Wednesday’s games produced over 2.5 goals, with only two clashes dishing up over 3.5 goals. It is also worth noting that both teams scored in seven of the 13 matches, while seven teams kept a clean sheet.

When it comes to locking in your Week 30 MLS picks, be sure to analyze recent scoring trends to give yourself the best possible chance of landing your bets.

MLS Odds and Fixtures for Week 30

It’s almost time for me to share my Week 30 MLS picks and predictions. First, though, we need to break down the latest Major League Soccer odds to locate the betting value.

Cincinnati, DC United, New England Revolution, Nashville, Sporting Kansas City, Real Salt Lake, LA Galaxy, Seattle, Philadelphia Union and Los Angeles FC all have negative odds. The only home sides with positive odds are CF Montreal, FC Dallas, and San Jose Earthquakes.

Are you ready for my Week 30 MLS picks? Let’s get this show on the road!

Best Week 30 MLS Picks

Week 30 kicks off this Saturday, with no fewer than 12 games taking place on September 2. The other two clashes are scheduled for Sunday, September 3, with Philly hosting RBNY and LAFC entertaining Inter Miami.

I have decided to take an in-depth look at three standout matchups for my Week 30 MLS picks. Of course, there are loads of exciting games going down this weekend, but my featured clashes offer excellent value.

I will kick things off with my prediction and pick for New York City FC vs. Vancouver Whitecaps. After that, I will cover LA Galaxy vs. Houston Dynamo and Philadelphia Union vs. New York Red Bulls.

New York City FC vs. Vancouver Whitecaps Prediction

The Vancouver Whitecaps claimed an impressive 1-0 road win against the Chicago Fire on Wednesday. As a result, the Whitecaps head into Saturday’s clash with New York City on a run of four victories in five encounters.

Following back-to-back home wins against Austin FC and LA Galaxy, Vancouver suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to San Jose. However, the Canadian club swiftly bounced back with successive triumphs on the road.

Not only have New York City managed to win just one of their last six MLS matches, but they have also won two of their previous 18. With that in mind, Vancouver’s hefty price of +250 is too tasty to ignore.

Best Bet: Vancouver Whitecaps (+250)

LA Galaxy vs. Houston Dynamo Prediction

On Wednesday, the LA Galaxy came from 2-1 down to beat San Jose 3-2. Consequently, the Californians have won four of their last five games, scoring an impressive 13 goals in the process (2.6 goals per game).

When you look at the bigger picture, the Galaxy have suffered just one defeat in their previous 10 league outings. Following a shaky start to the season, Greg Vanney’s men now find themselves within touching distance of the playoff spots.

That said, the Houston Dynamo has also enjoyed plenty of success in recent weeks. Heading into Saturday’s showdown on a three-game winning streak, the team from Texas will be hopeful of upsetting the odds this weekend.

Philadelphia Union vs. New York Red Bulls Prediction

The last of my Week 30 MLS picks concerns Sunday’s clash between the Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls. Philly is the -120 favorite, while RBNY is the +300 underdog. Still, this will likely be a close-fought battle.

The Union suffered a shock 3-1 defeat against Toronto FC in midweek, but they chalked up three straight wins before that. Meanwhile, the Red Bulls were beaten 1-0 by New England on Wednesday, meaning they have lost four of their past five outings.

Although the Red Bulls have managed to win just one of their 12 away league games this year – recording four draws and seven losses along the way – their price of +300 is bound to attract plenty of attention following Philly’s midweek defeat.
