It is March and that means one thing – March Madness! It’s starting already with four conference tournaments already underway. The Atlantic Sun, Sun Belt, Horizon League, and Patriot League all started their conference tournaments earlier this week. Three more conference tournaments start today to add even more March Madness. The Big South, Northeast, and Ohio Valley all begin tournament action today.

March Madness Favorites
As we head into the final week of the regular season in college basketball, it appears the top four seeds in the upcoming March Madness tournament will be Houston, Purdue, UConn, and Arizona. Fourth-ranked Tennessee may have something to say about that, but those four teams are listed as the No. 1 seeds in the most recent version of ESPN’s bracketology.
Though Houston is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation, Purdue is expected to be named the NCAA tournament’s No. 1 overall seed. Even though Purdue and Houston are battling for the No. 1 overall seed, it is UConn that is the betting favorite to win it all. The defending champion Huskies are a +500 favorite on most betting boards.
Houston is listed at +700 and Purdue is right behind at +750. Those are the only teams given better than +1000 odds to win March Madness. Arizona checks in at +1200, the same odds given to Tennessee. The Vols are a No. 2 seed in the latest bracketology.
Purdue (26-3) is led by National Player of the year Zach Edey who is averaging 24.0 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. The Boilermakers have wins over six Top 25 teams this season. Houston (26-3) has the best defense in the country. The Cougars hold teams to just 57.2 points per game. UConn is outstanding on both sides of the ball. The Huskies are 19th in scoring (81.6 ppg) and ninth in scoring defense (64.0 ppg). UConn leads the nation in average scoring margin (+17.6).
Just Another Tuesday
For some of our handicappers, putting 44 picks into the Sports Hub database is just another Tuesday. It was for Sas Insider, our partners in crime in the sports betting industry. The Insider, like Sports Hub, has a huge number of contacts within the industry, as a well as a vast supply of knowledge that is used to put together winning picks.
That’s exactly what Sas Insider did yesterday. Seventy-five percent of those 44 picks resulted in wins. Those wins resulted in a large amount of winnings added to the already full Sas Insider bankroll.
Three more Sports Hub exclusive handicappers also were on top of their games yesterday and wound up in the Top 5. Again, that’s just what we call a Tuesday.
Check out how our guys did yesterday.
- Go big or go home: Sas Insider went big and crushed the books yesterday. The Insider hit 33 of 44 picks for a whopping $2049 in winnings. That is one of the best days ever recorded here at Sports Hub.
- Not big enough: Madjack Sports went big yesterday, but apparently not big enough. The guys at Madjack went 6-1 on seven picks and earned $490. That would typically top the board on a given day, but not this day. Madjack was overshadowed by Sas Insider’s monster day. However, Madjack Sports is now the leader on our 14-day and 30-day leaderboards. Maybe it was big enough (that’s what she said).
- Eight wins, $800: If you had followed Sports Hub experts Ben Miller and Seth Cohen yesterday, you would have gone 8-0 and picked up $800. Ben and Seth each went 4-0 to earn $400. We’ve seen Seth here over the last week. He’s on the 7-day, 14-day, and 30-day leaderboards because of his recent success.
- Call The Bookie: No need to call anymore. You can find The Bookie right here at Sports Hub where he puts his 20-plus years of industry experience to work for bettors. Last night, The Bookie went 3-1 and added $255 to the bankroll. He’s got a CBB pick in the system for tonight already. You can bet The Bookie will be ready for March Madness!
Celtics Streaks Ends, Big NFL Moves
The Boston Celtics’ win streak is no more. The Cs will have to start another one when they play at Denver on Thursday night. Could that be an NBA Finals preview? Hmmm.
Some interesting news in the NFL. The Seattle Seahawks cut a pair of three-time Pro Bowl players. The names may surprise you, but keep in mind NFL teams are businesses and they make business decisions all the time.
Let’s take a look at trending news.
- Seahawks cut three players: Seattle cut safeties Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs yesterday along with TE Will Dissly. Both Adams and Diggs made the Pro Bowl three times as members of the Seahawks. Adams hasn’t been able to stay on the field for the Seahawks. He was the NFL’s highest-paid safety in 2021. Seattle frees up $11 million in cap space by releasing Diggs.
- Celtics’ run over: Boston had won 11 straight before taking a 22-point lead against Cleveland last night. The Celtics were up by 22 in the fourth quarter before losing that lead and, ultimately, the game. The final was 105-104.

- Bad News Bosox: Newly acquired P Lucas Giolito was scheduled to be Boston’s Opening Day starter this season. That isn’t going to happen. Giolito may miss the entire 2024 season after initital imaging showed damage to his UCL in his pitching elbow.
The March Madness Is Creeping Into Today’s Schedule
