Lourdes Gurriel Jr. sparked a dramatic comeback for the Arizona Diamondbacks, hitting a game-tying two-run homer in the eighth inning before Josh Naylor’s double gave Arizona the lead. The Diamondbacks scored eight runs in the eighth, erasing a 6-3 deficit to defeat the Chicago Cubs 10-6. Naylor also contributed an RBI single, while Ryne Nelson, a pitcher, recorded his first career hit and RBI. Despite homers from Kyle Tucker, Seiya Suzuki, and Dansby Swanson, the Cubs couldn’t hold their early 3-0 lead.


Yankees Complete Sweep With 12-3 Victory Over Brewers

The New York Yankees continued their offensive onslaught, sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers with a 12-3 victory. Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Aaron Judge both homered, while the Yankees launched a total of 15 homers in the series, tying a record for most homers in the first three games of a season. The Yankees outscored the Brewers 36-14 over the series, with Tim Hill earning the win in relief.

Padres Sweep Braves With 5-0 Shutout

Nick Pivetta was brilliant on the mound, allowing just one hit over seven shutout innings as the San Diego Padres completed a four-game sweep of the Atlanta Braves with a 5-0 win. Fernando Tatis Jr. led the Padres’ offense with two hits and a stolen base, while the pitching staff blanked Atlanta over the final 22 innings of the series.
