San Jose Earthquakes Extend Daniel, MLS Clubs Active in Transfer Market

The San Jose Earthquakes have secured their No. 1 goalkeeper for the future, signing Brazilian shot-stopper Daniel to a contract extension through 2026, with club options for 2027 and 2028.

Daniel, 30, has been a key figure in San Jose’s defense, recording six clean sheets in 34 MLS appearances since arriving in 2023. However, a hamstring injury limited him to just 12 matches last season.

San Jose’s sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena expressed confidence in Daniel’s potential:

“We’re pleased to re-sign Daniel. We believe he can be among the top goalkeepers in Major League Soccer and look forward to his playing a critical role in improving our team in the defending end of the field.”

Houston Dynamo Add Veteran Midfielder Junior Urso

The Houston Dynamo bolstered their midfield by signing free agent Junior Urso through 2025, with an option for 2026.

Urso, 35, brings experience and leadership, having recorded 13 goals and 10 assists in 117 MLS matches while playing for Orlando City SC (2020-23) and Charlotte FC (2024).

Houston’s president of soccer Pat Onstad highlighted Urso’s impact:

“Junior is a vastly experienced central midfielder with a history of making his teams better. He is a winner and has qualified for the playoffs every year he’s played in MLS.”

Vancouver Whitecaps Acquire Emmanuel Sabbi from Ligue 1

Looking for attacking reinforcements, the Vancouver Whitecaps secured forward Emmanuel Sabbi from French Ligue 1 side Le Havre AC.

Sabbi, 27, has signed a contract through 2027, with an option for 2028.

The U.S.-born forward has shown strong production in Europe, tallying 43 goals and 23 assists across 219 professional appearances in Denmark and France.

FC Dallas Makes Record Signing for Defender Osaze Urhoghide

In a major defensive signing, FC Dallas landed Dutch center-back Osaze Urhoghide from Amiens SC, a French second-division club.

Urhoghide, 24, inked a four-year contract through 2028, with an option for 2029.

While financial terms were not disclosed, FC Dallas confirmed that Urhoghide’s transfer fee is the highest ever paid for a defender in club history.

D.C. United Signs Midfielder Brandon Servania

D.C. United added midfield depth by signing free agent Brandon Servania to a contract running through 2026, with an option for 2027.

Servania, 25, has featured in 98 MLS games (65 starts), contributing five goals and eight assists while playing for FC Dallas (2019-22) and Toronto FC (2023-24).

Nashville SC & Philadelphia Union Invest in Young Talent

  • Nashville SC signed 18-year-old midfielder Matthew Corcoran from USL Championship side Birmingham Legion FC. His deal runs through 2027, with options for 2028 and 2029.
  • Philadelphia Union signed homegrown forward Eddy Davis III, 18, to a deal through 2027, also with options for 2028 and 2029. Davis set a Philadelphia Union II record with 13 goals in MLS NEXT Pro last season.
