NBA roundup: Bucks cap 4-0 run in NBA Cup group

Bucks 128, Pistons 107

Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered 28 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds as Milwaukee advanced in the NBA Cup with a dominant road win over Detroit.

Damian Lillard added 27 points and five assists for the Bucks, who completed a perfect 4-0 record in East Group B play. Milwaukee secured a home quarterfinal matchup against the Orlando Magic on Dec. 10.

Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 23 points and six assists, while Tobias Harris contributed 16 points and five rebounds. Detroit finished 3-1 in group play but failed to advance to the knockout rounds.

Clippers 127, Trail Blazers 105

Norman Powell erupted for 30 points, and James Harden added 23 with seven assists as Los Angeles cruised past visiting Portland for its ninth consecutive home victory.

Amir Coffey contributed 19 points for the Clippers, who avenged an earlier home loss. Powell has averaged 29 points in two games since returning from a hamstring injury.

Deandre Ayton scored 16 points for the Trail Blazers, who have dropped four of their past five games and seven of their last eight on the road.


Kings 120, Rockets 111

Domantas Sabonis scored 27 points and DeMar DeRozan poured in 13 of his 16 points during a pivotal third quarter as Sacramento defeated Houston at home.

De’Aaron Fox added 22 points, and Malik Monk recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 assists for the Kings, who earned their first win in NBA Cup play.

Jalen Green led all scorers with 28 points, while Alperen Sengun added 24 points for the Rockets, who will host the Golden State Warriors in the quarterfinals on Dec. 11.


76ers 110, Hornets 104

Paul George matched his season high with 29 points, and Tyrese Maxey scored the final 11 points for Philadelphia as the 76ers held off Charlotte.

Maxey finished with 21 points, including 10 from the free-throw line, as Philadelphia won consecutive games for the first time this season. Jared McCain chipped in 17 points off the bench.

Brandon Miller scored 34 points, and Nick Richards added 22 points and 14 rebounds for the Hornets, who dropped their sixth straight game.


Nuggets 119, Warriors 115

Nikola Jokic scored 15 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter to rally Denver past visiting Golden State.

Jokic added 10 rebounds, six assists, and five steals, while Michael Porter Jr. contributed 22 points for the Nuggets, who were eliminated from NBA Cup contention with a 2-2 group record.

Stephen Curry tallied 24 points and 11 assists for the Warriors, who clinched the West Group C title with a 3-1 mark despite the loss.


Mavericks 121, Grizzlies 116

Luka Doncic scored 37 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Dallas stormed back from a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat Memphis.

Dereck Lively III posted a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Spencer Dinwiddie sank two late 3-pointers for the Mavericks, who secured the NBA Cup West wild card and will play at Oklahoma City on Dec. 12.

Ja Morant scored a season-high 31 points for the Grizzlies, whose six-game winning streak came to an end.


Knicks 121, Magic 106

Karl-Anthony Towns posted 23 points and 15 rebounds as New York clinched the East Group A title with a win over visiting Orlando.

Josh Hart notched a triple-double with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists for the Knicks, who will host Atlanta in the quarterfinals on Dec. 11. Jalen Brunson added 21 points for New York, which has won eight of its last 10 games.

Franz Wagner scored 30 points for the Magic, who finished 3-1 in group play but were eliminated from contention.


Suns 104, Spurs 93

Devin Booker led the way with 29 points, nine rebounds, and five assists as Phoenix defeated San Antonio.

The Suns, who improved to 3-1 in group play, were eliminated from the NBA Cup despite the win. Kevin Durant sprained his ankle in the second quarter and did not return after scoring 13 points in 16 minutes.

Devin Vassell came off the bench to score 25 points for the Spurs, who dropped to 2-2 in group play.


Cavaliers 118, Wizards 87

Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley each scored 19 points as Cleveland rolled past visiting Washington for its 10th consecutive win over the Wizards.

Seven players scored in double figures for the Cavaliers, who own the NBA’s best record at 19-3. Cleveland has also won 10 straight games overall.

Jordan Poole, Bub Carrington, and Jonas Valanciunas scored 13 points apiece for Washington, which lost its 15th consecutive game.


Thunder 133, Jazz 106

Jalen Williams scored 28 points and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 26 as Oklahoma City cruised past Utah to clinch the West Group B title.

Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton each scored 17 points for the Jazz, who went winless in group play and suffered their fifth straight defeat.

Raptors 122, Pacers 111

Scottie Barnes exploded for a career-high 35 points, adding nine assists and six rebounds to lead Toronto past visiting Indiana.

RJ Barrett added 29 points and nine rebounds, and Jakob Poeltl chipped in 17 points and 10 boards as the Raptors finished 1-3 in group play.

Tyrese Haliburton scored 30 points for the Pacers, who lost their seventh consecutive road game.
