With just one week to go in the 2023 NFL regular season, Sports Hub is back with its NFL Week 17 Report! The No.1 seeds have been locked up, but divisional titles and playoff spots are still yet to be determined.
The festivities are over and we have now welcomed in the New Year. However, we still have another week left before the regular season is finished. First things first, though, we need to recap what happened during Week 17, including our top NFL cappers.
The Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns and the Los Angeles Rams were all able to secure a playoff berth. Our handicappers have also been able to turn some serious profits over the past seven days. Meanwhile, we still have a host of teams in the hunt to seal a spot in the postseason. It’s time to delve into my NFL Week 17 Report!
NFL Week 17 Report – Track Our Free Picks!
35 of our experts have managed to turn a profit over the past week. However, nobody has had a better festive period than Sports Hub’s Free Picks! If you followed our free NFL picks, you could have earned nearly $600!!!
We also saw a number of familiar faces near the top of the leaderboard with the likes of Diego Garcia, Sean Kuchman and Scott’s Picks all featuring inside the top five. However, a new face in Ray Monohan did well to net $200 as he rounded off the top of the charts.
The Christmas period has been incredibly profitable for SWJ Sports. Scott is a regular Sports Hub expert and he has smashed it out of the park with his NFL picks over the past two weeks. With a record of 15-3, Scott was able to earn a formidable $1175 profit! What a great end to 2023!

Here’s our top cappers over the past week in my NFL Week 17 Report:
- FREE PICKS: Yes, they’re free picks! And they’re our free picks too. If you followed Sports Hub’s free NFL picks over the past week, you’d have profited a tasty $588! With a record of 7-1, our selections saw success on spreads and totals. What a week!
- Diego Garcia Is Back: Diego hasn’t been near our leaderboards in the NFL for a while now. However, he crushed it during Week 17, winning all four of his picks to turn a $400 profit. We love to see a 100% record and Diego managed to go 4-0!
- Sean The Reg: Sean Kuchman has been a regular in my weekly NFL reports. He’s back again after Week 17 as he netted a tidy $385, winning 72.73% of his 11 bets. Sean loves backing the underdog to cover and that’s where he saw a lot of his success over the last seven days.
- Scott’s Picks: Winning his last four NFL picks in succession, Scott was able to earn a very solid $365. His record is 8-4 over the last week and he largely bets on spreads.
- A New Name: Ray Monohan is a new capper to be included in my NFL Week 17 Report. Despite the fact that we love to see consistent experts near the top of our leaderboards, we always welcome fresh faces. Ray was able to go 2-0 during Week 17, earning $200 to wrap up our top five.
NFL Week 17 Report – Trending News
My NFL Week 17 Report is dominated by looking at the teams across the league who have or are yet to secure their place in the postseason. With just one week left to go, it’s now or never to achieve success for the season.
Another two teams across the AFC managed to secure a playoff berth during Week 17. The Browns and the Chiefs have now joined the Baltimore Ravens and the Miami Dolphins in the postseason. Meanwhile, the Rams became the fifth team in the NFC to secure a spot in the playoffs.
There are a further three spots left in the AFC, with the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts currently making the postseason as things stand. However, the Houston Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers still have a shot and are on the bubble heading into the final week of the regular season.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Green Bay Packers look set to reach the playoffs right now over in the NFC. However, there are still a further four teams still in with a chance. The Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons will still be fighting in Week 18.
Here are some further highlights in my NFL Week 17 Report:
- Huge Win For Kansas City: What a victory it was for the Chiefs on Sunday as they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 25-17 to clinch a playoff berth. It’s been a tough season for Kansas City, but they have managed to reach the postseason, eliminating the Bengals in the process.
- Bills Set For Playoffs: With a 94% chance of reaching the playoffs, the Bills look set to be the next team to clinch a berth. They moved to 10-6 with their 27-21 triumph over the New England Patriots on Sunday. Buffalo could still even win the AFC East if they defeat the Fins during Week 18 in the division decider.
- Ravens & Niners Secure No.1 Seed: Both the Ravens and the Niners have been magnificent in 2023. Baltimore crushed the Dolphins 56-19 to wrap up the No.1 seed in the AFC, whilst the 49ers beat the Washington Commanders 27-10 to confirm their status as the No.1 seed in the NFC. The two teams have now deservedly secured a bye during the Wild Card Round.
- Saints Victory Keeps NFC East Wide Open: The NFC South hasn’t shown much quality over the past two seasons. The Bucs won the division with a record of 8-9 last season and all four teams are at .500 or under heading into the final week. The Saints managed to defeat the Bucs 23-13 during Week 17, meaning three teams in the division could still reach the playoffs.

A look To Our Week 18 NFL Report
As we head towards the end of my NFL Week 17 Report, we’re now ready to take a look at what’s coming up in Week 18. There’s no Thursday Night Football as we enter the final week of the regular season. However, we kick things off in Week 18 on Saturday, before everything gets finished off with a Sunday Night Football primetime showing.
Let’s take a look at what’s coming up in Week 18:
- Saturday Night Football: There’s not much for the Ravens to play for in Week 18 as they have already secured the No.1 seed. They’ll give their starters a rest as they welcome the Steelers to M&T Bank Stadium. Pittsburgh are still in the hunt for the playoffs, but their chances appear quite slim.
- More Saturday Night Football: SNF will conclude with a pivotal AFC South battle between the Texans and the Colts. Both teams sit at 9-7 and are fighting with the Jaguars (9-7) to clinch the division title. Wild Card spots could also be up for grabs so we are set for a dramatic end to the season.
- NFL Sunday: The last full slate of NFL games are on the schedule this Sunday. Bettors can enjoy a total of 14 games. I’m sure everyone will be tuning into NFL RedZone this weekend as we finalize the standings. We’re all in for a full day on the couch watching commercial-free football!
- Sunday Night Football: The 2023 NFL regular season will conclude with Bills-Dolphins during the primetime slot on SNF. Miami have already secured a playoff berth, but the Bills are yet to do so. Buffalo can win the AFC East with a victory on Sunday in what is a must-win game.
That’s all we’ve got time for in my NFL Week 17 Report. I’ll be back next week as the regular season finishes. We’ll be able to see the complete playoff picture after Week 18, so be sure to check out next week’s report as we look to summarize the 2023 NFL regular season.
We’ll also be able to see which of our cappers have had the most success in 2023. Sports Hub will continue to provide you with coverage during the playoffs. It will be crucial to identify our best NFL experts before the postseason gets underway. If your team is still fighting for a playoff spot, we wish you good luck!
