Alex Ovechkin scored twice, giving him five goals in two games, but he exited in the third period with a lower-body injury following a collision with Utah’s Jack McBain. Ovechkin’s status remains uncertain as the Capitals await updates.

Washington dominated offensively with contributions from Dylan Strome and Brandon Duhaime, who each recorded a goal and an assist. Charlie Lindgren made 24 saves as the Capitals completed a sweep of their three-game road trip. Ovechkin, now with 15 goals in 18 games, is 27 shy of breaking Wayne Gretzky’s all-time goals record.

For Utah, McBain and Nick Bjugstad found the net. Goaltender Connor Ingram allowed four goals on 13 shots before being replaced by Karel Vejmelka in the second period. Utah has now dropped three of its last four games.
