For Calgary, Mikael Backlund, Rasmus Andersson, and Nazem Kadri scored in the losing effort.


Bruins 4, Maple Leafs 3 (OT)

Brad Marchand scored his first goal of the season in overtime, lifting the Boston Bruins over the Toronto Maple Leafs. David Pastrnak assisted on Marchand’s game-winner and also added a goal. Toronto’s Auston Matthews tied the game late in the third, helping the Maple Leafs earn a point.

Jonathan Marchessault’s overtime goal lifted the Nashville Predators over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Goalie Scott Wedgewood made 25 saves for Nashville. Marchessault scored the game-winner at 1:44 in overtime, giving the Predators their third consecutive win.

Andrei Vasilevskiy earned his first shutout of the season as the Tampa Bay Lightning blanked the Washington Capitals 3-0. Rookie Conor Geekie scored his first NHL goal for Tampa Bay. Vasilevskiy made 31 saves, supported by 19 blocked shots from teammates.

Jonathan Quick made 32 saves and Artemi Panarin extended his point streak to eight games as the New York Rangers edged the Anaheim Ducks 2-1. Ryan Lindgren and Will Cuylle scored for New York, while Olen Zellweger scored Anaheim’s lone goal.

Sean Couturier recorded a hat trick, and the Philadelphia Flyers earned their first regulation win of the season with a 7-5 victory over the Minnesota Wild. Travis Konecny contributed a goal and four assists, and Rasmus Ristolainen netted the game-winner.

Kirby Dach, Jake Evans, and Joel Armia each had a goal and an assist as the Montreal Canadiens snapped a four-game skid, defeating the St. Louis Blues 5-2. Mike Matheson added two assists, and Sam Montembeault made 29 saves.


Golden Knights 7, Sharks 3

Brett Howden scored twice and Mark Stone added a goal and two assists as the Vegas Golden Knights dominated the San Jose Sharks 7-3. Vegas remains perfect at home, while San Jose dropped to 0-7-2 on the season.

Elias Pettersson scored during a four-goal second period for the Vancouver Canucks, who rallied to a 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Goalie Kevin Lankinen stopped 21 shots, helping Vancouver secure their fourth straight victory.

Seth Jarvis scored a goal and added an assist as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Seattle Kraken 4-1. Goalie Frederik Andersen made 18 saves, leading Carolina to its fourth win on a six-game road trip.
