Gabriel Vilardi scored twice, including the tying goal with 27.6 seconds left in regulation, as Winnipeg rallied to defeat host St. Louis and run its winning streak to nine. Kyle Connor netted the lone shootout tally, while goaltender Eric Comrie stopped 21 shots and turned away all three shootout attempts. Robert Thomas (two goals, one assist) and Pavel Buchnevich (one goal, two assists) led the Blues, who forced overtime on Buchnevich’s power-play goal with 2:50 left before eventually falling.
Capitals 8, Penguins 3
Jakob Chychrun scored two of Washington’s five second-period goals to lead a rout in Pittsburgh. Brandon Duhaime and Martin Fehervary added a goal and an assist each for the Capitals, who improved to 12-1-6 in 2025 and have points in seven straight (4-0-3). Sidney Crosby tallied his 18th goal for the Penguins, who have lost three of four. Alex Ovechkin remained 16 goals shy of breaking Wayne Gretzky’s all-time mark of 894.
Golden Knights 3, Canucks 1
Brendon Saad broke a 1-1 tie with a third-period tally and Adin Hill made 33 saves as Vegas defeated visiting Vancouver for its third consecutive win. Ivan Barbashev and Tomas Hertl also scored, Brett Howden contributed two assists, and the Golden Knights improved to 15-2-1 against the Pacific Division. Jake DeBrusk’s goal marked his fourth season reaching the 20-goal plateau. Kevin Lankinen stopped 32 of 34 shots for the Canucks, who saw a three-game win streak snapped.
Kraken 2, Panthers 1
Jared McCann netted the game-winner against his former club with 12:57 to play, lifting Seattle to a road victory in Sunrise, Fla. Kaapo Kakko and Shane Wright both chipped in, with Kakko scoring the Kraken’s other goal and Wright assisting on both tallies. Joey Daccord made 26 saves to run his record to 20-14-3. Florida played without Matthew Tkachuk (lower-body injury) and got its lone goal from Eetu Luostarinen. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 20 shots in defeat.
Flyers 6, Oilers 3
Owen Tippett scored twice and Matvei Michkov collected a goal and two assists as Philadelphia overcame an early deficit to top visiting Edmonton. Sean Couturier added a goal and two helpers as well. Leon Draisaitl’s goal and assist weren’t enough for the Oilers, who also got a goal and an assist from John Klingberg. Connor McDavid, coming off an overtime heroics in the 4 Nations Face-Off championship, was held off the score sheet and finished minus-3.
Sabres 8, Rangers 2
Rasmus Dahlin and Tage Thompson each tallied two goals and an assist, powering Buffalo to a five-goal opening period and a rout of visiting New York. Ryan McLeod also scored twice, while Jack Quinn and Henri Jokiharju added goals for the Sabres. Igor Shesterkin allowed five goals on 16 shots before being replaced by Jonathan Quick late in the first. Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad scored for the Rangers.

Matt Duchene stayed hot with a goal and an assist, and Casey DeSmith made 31 saves as Dallas won in Newark for its seventh victory in nine games (7-1-1). Duchene’s tally came 35 seconds after Jack Hughes cut the deficit to 2-1 midway through the third period. Evgenii Dadonov and Thomas Harley scored in the opening six minutes for the Stars; Wyatt Johnston notched an empty-netter in the final seconds. Hughes scored twice for New Jersey.
Wild 4, Red Wings 3 (OT)
Marco Rossi broke in alone and scored with 1:25 left in overtime, capping Minnesota’s comeback from a two-goal third-period deficit in Detroit. Matt Boldy had a goal and an assist and Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves for the Wild, who have won three straight. Fleury played in his 1,045th NHL game, surpassing Roberto Luongo for second all-time in appearances by a goaltender. Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Larkin, and Lucas Raymond scored for the Red Wings.
Predators 2, Avalanche 1
Jonathan Marchessault netted the decisive goal with 10:49 remaining as Nashville prevailed at home. Justin Barron also scored, while Juuse Saros turned aside 31 shots to halt his five-game personal skid. Sam Malinski provided Colorado’s only goal, and Jonathan Drouin earned an assist alongside Juuso Parssinen, who faced his old team for the first time since being traded in late December. Scott Wedgewood recorded 15 saves for the Avs, whose two-game win streak ended.
Ducks 3, Bruins 2 (OT)
Leo Carlsson’s goal at 3:39 of overtime lifted visiting Anaheim after Boston rallied to tie the contest in the final moments of regulation. Trevor Zegras and Frank Vatrano scored in a 1:55 span late in the first period for the Ducks, who led 2-0 before Elias Lindholm tallied in the second and Morgan Geekie forced overtime with 1:11 to go in the third. Geekie’s tying goal initially was waved off for goalie interference, but a Bruins challenge overturned the ruling.
Maple Leafs 6, Hurricanes 3
Pontus Holmberg collected two goals and an assist as Toronto built a four-goal advantage then fended off a Carolina rally with two late empty-netters. Alex Steeves (goal, assist), John Tavares (goal, assist), David Kampf, and Auston Matthews also scored, while William Nylander chipped in two assists. Anthony Stolarz made 31 saves for the Leafs. Shayne Gostisbehere (goal, assist), Andrei Svechnikov (goal, assist), and Jaccob Slavin (goal) led the Hurricanes, who have dropped four of five.
Kings 5, Utah Hockey Club 3
Drew Doughty had a goal and two assists to help Los Angeles earn its 18th home victory (18-3-2) this season by defeating the expansion franchise from Utah. Kevin Fiala contributed a goal and an assist, and Trevor Lewis, Alex Laferriere, and Mikey Anderson also scored for the Kings. Barrett Hayton notched the first hat trick in Utah history, Nick Schmaltz added two assists, and Connor Ingram made 21 saves as Utah saw a three-of-four run snapped.
Blue Jackets 5, Blackhawks 1
Kent Johnson potted two goals and Zach Werenski picked up a goal and two assists, propelling Columbus past slumping Chicago. Denton Mateychuk and Adam Fantilli joined in the scoring for the Jackets, who ended a four-game winless spell and beat the Blackhawks for the fifth straight time. Elvis Merzlikins finished with 27 saves, while Dmitri Voronkov dished two assists. Craig Smith scored Chicago’s lone goal, and Petr Mrazek stopped 16 shots.
Canadiens 5, Senators 2
Brendan Gallagher led the way with a goal and an assist, sparking Montreal to victory in Ottawa. Cole Caufield, Patrik Laine, Josh Anderson, and Juraj Slafkovsky also scored as the Canadiens snapped a three-game skid and posted just their fourth win in 13 outings.
Tim Stutzle had a goal and a helper, and Jake Sanderson scored as well, but the Senators dropped their fourth straight.
