Jordan Binnington recorded 31 saves to notch his first shutout of the season and became the St. Louis Blues’ all-time leader in victories with 152, surpassing Mike Liut. Dylan Holloway scored twice in the first period, and Robert Thomas added another goal for St. Louis, which has won two straight under new coach Jim Montgomery.

For the Devils, Jacob Markstrom made 17 saves as their three-game winning streak came to an end.

Red Wings 2, Flames 1 (OT)

Lucas Raymond scored a power-play goal in overtime to lift Detroit past Calgary. Raymond’s game-winner came after the Flames were penalized for having too many men on the ice. Alex DeBrincat contributed a goal and an assist for the Red Wings, while Cam Talbot made 24 saves.

Connor Zary scored Calgary’s lone goal, and Dan Vladar stopped 25 shots in the loss.


Avalanche 2, Golden Knights 1 (SO)

Valeri Nichushkin scored the deciding goal in the fifth round of a shootout as Colorado edged Vegas. Alexandar Georgiev made 18 saves during regulation and overtime and denied all five shootout attempts to help Colorado secure its fourth win in five games.

Pavel Dorofeyev scored for Vegas, and Adin Hill stopped 33 shots in the loss.


Flyers 3, Predators 2 (OT)

Morgan Frost’s goal with 11.4 seconds left in regulation tied the game, and Sean Couturier netted the overtime winner as Philadelphia stunned Nashville. Couturier’s tip-in capped a thrilling comeback.

Roman Josi and Ryan O’Reilly scored for Nashville, while Juuse Saros recorded 20 saves in the loss.


Canadiens 4, Blue Jackets 3 (OT)

Nick Suzuki scored 44 seconds into overtime to lift Montreal past Columbus. Juraj Slafkovsky tallied a goal and an assist, and Cayden Primeau stopped 21 shots for the Canadiens, who snapped a two-game skid.

Zach Werenski notched a Gordie Howe hat trick (goal, assist, and fight) for Columbus, which saw its three-game winning streak halted.


Kings 4, Jets 1

Adrian Kempe and Anze Kopitar each registered a goal and an assist as Los Angeles cruised past Winnipeg. David Rittich made 13 saves for his 100th NHL victory.

Gabriel Vilardi scored Winnipeg’s lone goal as the Jets fell to 3-4-0 in their past seven games after a 15-1-0 start to the season.


Hurricanes 4, Rangers 3

Jackson Blake’s power-play goal with 7:59 left in the third period lifted Carolina to its ninth consecutive home win. Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Blake scored 2:07 apart to erase a deficit and give the Hurricanes the edge.

Vincent Trocheck scored for New York, while Igor Shesterkin made 27 saves in the loss.


Panthers 5, Maple Leafs 1

Carter Verhaeghe recorded a goal and two assists as Florida snapped a four-game losing streak. Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves in net, while Sam Reinhart scored his league-leading 17th goal.

Mitch Marner scored for Toronto, which saw its four-game winning streak come to an end.

Bruins 6, Islanders 3

Pavel Zacha’s pair of third-period goals sealed Boston’s win in Elmont, N.Y. Brad Marchand scored twice in the first period, and Joonas Korpisalo stopped 21 shots for the Bruins.

Brock Nelson had two goals and an assist for the Islanders, who have lost five of their last six games.


Wild 1, Sabres 0

Filip Gustavsson made 39 saves, and Kirill Kaprizov scored the lone goal of the game as Minnesota topped Buffalo. The Wild recorded their league-best 10th road win this season.

Tom Wilson scored a power-play goal with 3:26 remaining to help Washington secure its sixth straight road win. Dylan Strome and Aliaksei Protas each contributed a goal and an assist for the Capitals.

Brayden Point recorded a hat trick for Tampa Bay, but Andrei Vasilevskiy’s 27 saves weren’t enough to prevent the loss.


Penguins 5, Canucks 4

Bryan Rust scored twice, and Erik Karlsson added three assists to propel Pittsburgh past Vancouver. Tristan Jarry made 25 saves for the Penguins, snapping his month-long winless streak.

Quinn Hughes tallied a goal and two assists for the Canucks, whose eight-game road winning streak was snapped.


Blackhawks 6, Stars 2

Taylor Hall recorded his fifth career hat trick as Chicago rolled past Dallas. Connor Bedard ended a 12-game goal drought, while Petr Mrazek made 25 saves to help the Blackhawks earn points in three consecutive games for the first time this season.

Matt Duchene and Colin Blackwell scored for Dallas, which has been outscored 12-6 in its past two games.


Ducks 5, Kraken 2

Cutter Gauthier, Alex Killorn, and Trevor Zegras each had a goal and an assist as Anaheim defeated Seattle. John Gibson made 42 saves to earn his fourth win in five starts.

Eeli Tolvanen and Oliver Bjorkstrand scored for the Kraken, who have dropped just their second game in their last seven at home.

Senators 4, Sharks 3

Adam Gaudette scored twice, and Tim Stutzle provided three assists as Ottawa edged San Jose. Linus Ullmark made 36 saves to remain unbeaten in six career games against the Sharks.

Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith led San Jose with a goal and an assist each in the loss, their fourth in five games.
