Kings Dominate Bruins 7-2, Extend Win Streak
The Los Angeles Kings put on an offensive clinic, scoring the final five goals to secure a commanding 7-2 win over the Boston Bruins on Sunday night. Seven different Kings players found the back of the net, with Drew Doughty’s goal at 8:46 of the second period kicking off the surge.
Quinton Byfield and Tanner Jeannot each logged a goal and an assist, while Anze Kopitar, Warren Foegele, Andrei Kuzmenko, and Samuel Helenius also scored for the Kings. Brandt Clarke, Adrian Kempe, and Joel Edmundson each chipped in two assists, while Darcy Kuemper made 11 saves. The victory marks the Kings’ third straight win and eighth in their last nine games, tying them with Edmonton for second in the Pacific Division.
The Bruins, on the other hand, continued their downward spiral with a six-game winless streak (0-5-1). Elias Lindholm and Morgan Geekie managed to score for Boston, while Jeremy Swayman had a rough night, allowing seven goals on just 23 shots.
Sabres 5, Jets 3
Ryan McLeod had a career night, notching a goal and three assists to lead the visiting Buffalo Sabres to a 5-3 win against the Winnipeg Jets. It was McLeod’s first four-point game, while James Reimer made 33 saves to secure the victory.
Nino Niederreiter, Colin Miller, and Nikolaj Ehlers found the net for the Jets, who have won four of their past five games despite this setback.
Blackhawks 7, Flyers 4
Ryan Donato’s two-goal performance helped the Chicago Blackhawks snap a seven-game losing streak with a resounding 7-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Tyler Bertuzzi contributed a goal and two assists, while Connor Bedard, Joe Veleno, and Pat Maroon each scored and assisted once.
The Flyers, now on a five-game losing skid, got goals from Travis Konecny and Jamie Drysdale, among others. Chicago netminder Spencer Knight made 24 saves, while Flyers goalie Ivan Fedotov struggled, allowing seven goals on 29 shots.
Golden Knights 4, Lightning 2
Ilya Samsonov was stellar between the pipes, stopping 35 of 37 shots to lead the Vegas Golden Knights to a 4-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Jack Eichel, Tomas Hertl, Nicolas Roy, and Nicolas Hague found the net for Vegas, who claimed their third straight win and extended their Pacific Division lead.
Nick Paul and Nikita Kucherov scored for Tampa Bay, but their efforts fell short. Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy recorded 26 saves but couldn’t contain the Golden Knights’ relentless attack.
Blues 4, Predators 1
Justin Faulk tallied a goal and an assist as the St. Louis Blues defeated the Nashville Predators 4-1, earning their sixth straight victory. Jordan Kyrou, Alexandre Texier, and Brayden Schenn also scored for the Blues, while Jordan Binnington made 31 saves.
Filip Forsberg netted the lone goal for Nashville, which has been struggling with a 1-4-1 record in their last six games.
Panthers 4, Penguins 3 (SO)
Aleksander Barkov scored the only goal of the shootout to lead the Florida Panthers to a comeback 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Sam Reinhart scored twice in regulation, while Anton Lundell added another goal for Florida.
Bryan Rust tallied two goals and an assist for Pittsburgh, while Sidney Crosby extended his point streak to seven games with two assists. Tristan Jarry stopped 27 shots but couldn’t secure the win.
Hurricanes 5, Ducks 2
Taylor Hall recorded a third-period hat trick as the Carolina Hurricanes pulled away from the Anaheim Ducks with a 5-2 road victory. Frederik Andersen made 35 saves for the Hurricanes, who bounced back after their eight-game winning streak was snapped.
Anaheim’s Alex Killorn and Trevor Zegras each netted goals, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Carolina’s strong finish. Lukas Dostal made 32 saves for the Ducks, who have now lost three of their last four games.
