Golden Knights Edge Utah in Overtime to Stay Unbeaten at Home

Brett Howden scored at 2:15 of overtime, lifting the Vegas Golden Knights to a 4-3 victory over the Utah Hockey Club in Las Vegas. Howden took a pass from Noah Hanifin, deked around Alexander Kerfoot, and beat goalie Connor Ingram with a slick backhander for the game-winner.

Hanifin had a standout performance with a goal and two assists, while William Karlsson and Pavel Dorofeyev also scored for the Golden Knights. Adin Hill made 16 saves as Vegas tied their franchise record for an 8-0-0 home start, a feat first achieved in 2017-18.

For Utah, Logan Cooley scored and added an assist, while Nick Bjugstad recorded two assists. Despite solid play from Ingram, who stopped 31 shots, Utah has now lost five of their last six games.


Panthers Complete Global Series Sweep Over Stars

A.J. Greer netted the go-ahead goal early in the third period, propelling the Florida Panthers to a 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars in Tampere, Finland, as part of the NHL Global Series. Sam Reinhart sealed the victory with an empty-netter, while Matthew Tkachuk added a power-play goal. Spencer Knight stopped 23 shots as Florida extended their winning streak to five games.

For Dallas, Matt Duchene had a goal and an assist, but the Stars couldn’t stop Florida from sweeping the two-game set.

Brad Marchand recorded a goal and an assist, and Joonas Korpisalo earned his fifth career shutout, as the Boston Bruins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0. Matthew Poitras and Justin Brazeau also scored, helping Boston bounce back after a tough stretch of five losses in six games.

Philadelphia, which lost goalie Samuel Ersson early in the first period to an undisclosed injury, had won three of their previous four games, including a rare road win over Boston earlier in the week.

Blackhawks Rally to Beat Kings in Shootout

The Chicago Blackhawks overcame a late deficit, with Tyler Bertuzzi tying the game with 31 seconds left in regulation. Sidney Crosby scored twice as the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Montreal Canadiens 3-1, securing back-to-back wins for only the second time this season. Alex Nedeljkovic made 25 saves for Pittsburgh.

Suter Lifts Canucks Over Sharks with Late Goal

Pius Suter scored his second goal of the game with 25.7 seconds left, giving the Vancouver Canucks a 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks. Jake DeBrusk also scored for Vancouver, and Kevin Lankinen made 21 saves.

Nico Sturm and Mikael Granlund scored for San Jose, but Suter’s late heroics spoiled a strong effort from goalie Mackenzie Blackwood, who stopped 24 shots.
