Goalie Calvin Pickard made 24 saves for Edmonton as they kicked off their four-game road trip with a victory.
Andrew Copp had a goal and an assist and J.T. Compher scored for Detroit, which has now lost two consecutive games. Patrick Kane added two assists, and Cam Talbot recorded 31 saves in the loss.

Devils 6, Ducks 2
Stefan Noesen scored back-to-back goals in the second period as the New Jersey Devils used a five-goal run to cruise past the Anaheim Ducks. Jack Hughes and Paul Cotter added goals in the second period, while Nico Hischier and Erik Haula provided insurance goals in the third. Goalie Jacob Markstrom stopped 24 shots to help New Jersey snap a four-game skid.
Brock McGinn opened the scoring for Anaheim, with Ryan Strome adding another in the third period. James Reimer made 28 saves, but the Ducks remain winless on their current Metropolitan Division road trip.

Canadiens 4, Flyers 3
Nick Suzuki and Brendan Gallagher each recorded a goal and an assist, leading the Montreal Canadiens to a road win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Jake Evans and Cole Caufield also found the net, and Cayden Primeau made 23 saves as Montreal earned its first back-to-back wins and first road victory of the season.
For Philadelphia, Travis Sanheim scored twice, and Travis Konecny added a goal. Rookie goalie Aleksei Kolosov debuted with 20 saves but couldn’t prevent the Flyers from dropping their seventh game in nine outings.

Avalanche 5, Senators 4
Logan O’Connor and Ross Colton scored 1:32 apart in the third period to propel the Colorado Avalanche past the Ottawa Senators in Denver. Nathan MacKinnon recorded a goal and an assist, Nikolai Kovalenko scored his first NHL goal, and Josh Manson also contributed to the win. Goalie Justus Annunen made 26 saves as Colorado extended its win streak to five games.
Claude Giroux scored twice, and Brady Tkachuk and Nick Cousins each added a goal for Ottawa. Anton Forsberg stopped 25 shots, but the Senators couldn’t hold off Colorado’s late rally.
